Craft Corner: “Wooden” Crate

Bastelecke: Obstkiste This is the last of my autumn DIY projects I made this fall using my Silhouette Cameo (though, don’t worry, there’s more projects lined up already and ready to show you). It’s a little “wooden” crate I created from a cutting file by svgcuts.com, and I think it turned out too cute. I actually had a couple of (paper) pumpkins from last year and added a couple of apples and pears this year to fill up my little crate and it completes my little collection of autumn craft projects. It’s a free printable available for download at D-lish Scraps, and it’s perfect for adding a little journaling spot on one of your hybrid or craft projects, and it may even work on a digital page, too. Tip from me: Print this on colored card stock and it might add that extra bling to your projects. Ich möchte euch mal wieder auf eine nette Kleinigkeit hinweisen. Es ist ein Dokument, dass ihr euch kostenlos bei D-lish Scraps runterladen und dann ausdrucken könnt. Es sind Schreibetiketten, die sich ganz toll auf einem Hybrid- oder Bastelprojekt (z. B. Karten) verwenden lassen, oder auch auf einer digitalen Scrapbooking Seite brauchbar sein können. Forgiven Faculty

Vergebenes Lehrerkollegium   Alright, admitted: I didn’t go to the candle light ceremony this year – the inauguration of the freshman students. (Before you get all fussy about that, however, just a little note on the side: I didn’t have to go.) Little did I know, though, that this year I really missed out on a huge feat! (As my colleagues were kind enough to point out to me the other day. Remember my not so foreign stuff teacher ID lunch talk?) After all, all foreign faculty who went to take part in the ceremony were given a huge deal. They were noticed as the “forgiven” faculty (foreign faculty). Now, my question is: Does that mean they have permission to mess up big time this year, knowing that they’ve been pardoned already? Or does it mean only those colleagues who’ve been pardoned in the past were admitted to join the ceremony? I guess the answer to such a big and important question really lies with the powers that be. But no matter what, I definitely …

Lovely Letters

Liebliche Briefe   One of the things I love about my job is the things that happen on the sidelines of the class routine. Like getting little letters from my students. Now, keep in mind that I’m teaching freshman university students. But isn’t it lovely to get a letter with little drawings and nice sentiments? No matter how old my students are, these things always warm my heart and make me happy to be a freshman teacher! Einer der Gründe, warum ich meinen Job so mag sind die Dinge die am Rande des Unterrichts passieren. Wie z.B. Briefe von meinen Studenten zu bekommen. Vergesst dabei nicht, ich unterrichte 1. und 2. Semester Studenten an einer Universität. Aber ist es nicht allzu lieblich, einen Brief mit kleinen Zeichnungen von den Studenten zu bekommen? Egal wie alt meine Studenten sind, Dinge wie diese wärmen mir leicht das Herz und machen es mir ein Vergnügen, 1. Semester Studenten zu unterrichten!

Craft Corner: Autumn Basket from svgcuts.com

Bastelecke: Herbstkorb von svgcuts.com   Check out this super cute little autumn basket that I created with another cutting file from svgcuts.com. I left things very simple, only using solid colored card stock. Assembly of this is very easy, especially because there’s a video tutorial for it on youtube. I filled my basket with paper goodies – apples, pears and pumpkins, etc. But it’s also possible to fill it with actual stuff and use it as a cute little giveaway to someone special. Seht euch mal diesen niedlichen kleinen Herbstkorb an, den ich mit einer Schneidedatei von svgcuts.com erstellt habe. Ich habe alles sehr einfach gehalten, nur Tonkarton verwendet. Es war auch leicht, diesen Korb zusammenzusetzen, vor allem, weil es hierfür speziell ein Video Tutorial (Anleitung) auf Youtube gibt. Ich habe meinen Korb mit Papiernaschereien gefüllt – Äpfel, Birnen und Kürbisse. Aber es ist auch möglich, ihn mit echten Sachen zu füllen und ihn dann als ein kleines Gesehenk an jemand Besonderen zu verschenken.
