The Flight | Die Flucht

Sudden developments have led to drastic changes for me. Plötzliche Entwicklungen haben zu einschneidenden Veränderungen für mich geführt.           The News | Die Nachricht Friday, my boss asked me for a conference. In that conference he informed me that he is expecting the lockdown to last for a while and that students most likely won’t return to campus until April/May, most likely not at all. I’ve been asking him about my options to return to GER this semester, if no students are around anyway, and for the first time, he recommended I should try leaving the country. He informed me that the risks are great for me to have trouble returning as my residence permit will expire and I will have to apply for a new visa.

Welcome …

We finally made the big move, and are proud to share with you the result of two months’ of preparation at last. But before I go on sharing with you some of the exciting new features at MistyHilltops.com, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to my sister who made all of this possible! Hugs, sister!   What’s New You’ll find the new MistyHilltops.com is quite different from the old. Not only did we try to give this site a fresh and simplified look, but we also worked hard to make the navigation through this site a lot easier. Now, instead of lots of different parts to this site, you will see that this site has four main sections: My personal blog (where I’ll continue to share stories from life) The photo gallery (related to my personal blog) The Digiscrap Corner (where you’ll find tons of inspiration just like you’ve gotten used to) And an all new scrapbooking portfolio (where you can see samples of my latest scrapbooking designs). And what’s best of all: if …

An Anniversary

Today is a special day for me. It marks the anniversary of my move to China. Yet once more do I look back to all the things I’ve been able to learn from these people since I first arrived here. And I’m thankful for how this experience has enriched my life!

MistyHilltops.com All New …

Remember that blog facelift I was telling you about a couple of weeks ago? Well, it’s coming along. These days little sister and  I have been working on my test site again, and it’s coming together just nicely. There are a couple of construction zones that still need a bit of thinking and tweaking, but before long, I think we’ll be ready to launch a new, and vastly improved version of mistyhilltops.com with a fresh look to it. So stay tuned …

Busy Blogger

I have some exciting news to share with you! (And it’s also a little excuse for why blogging has happened so sporadically lately …) You see, I’m currently working at maintaining two blogs. Or we could say, I’m doing a double version of MistyHilltops.com. You ask why? Well, that’s what’s so exciting! I’m getting a new blog!!! That is: we are giving my current blog a facelift. A real deal, big fat facelift. My expert sister has decided to set me up with a more professional theme (thanks, dearest expert sister, you’ve made someone halfway around the world really happy!), and these days, I’ve been kind of busy trying to figure out everything with how that new blog works, how we can simplify things, and how to set up everything exactly according to my preferences. (Still working at most of all of that!) And since I actually also have a real life, a job, and a very active social life, maintaining two blogs means it’s either one or the other. And these days, it has been …

Back in Business

After the long delay, I’m quite excited to announce that: We are back in business! The move took a lot longer than we ever anticipated, but now I should be able to get back to the routine very quickly, I hope! Thanks for your patience in bearing with us.

Last Day of School

I can’t believe another semester of school is officially over – as of today. Most of my foreign colleagues have deserted the campus already, and the vast majority has left as well. For the next couple of weeks, I’ll have to be content with quiet solitude! Or maybe not? We’ll see …

We Are Moving …

Just thought I’d let you know that MistyHilltops.com is moving. No, not to a new address. We’re just switching servers, since we’ve reached the limit of our traffic allowance with our current webhosting service – in other words, you guys are giving me too much traffic, lol! But that’s a good thing, I guess. So, I’m not complaining at all that there’s actually enough people out there who think to stop by MistyHilltops every once in a while. But, we have to move. And I’m only glad that I don’t have to pack up a lot of things, and carry lots of boxes and what not. But then, our last move with MistyHilltops was a nightmare just the same, as it took a couple of days to figure out what was wrong. Anyways, all I’m saying is that, if things get a bit wonky with MistyHilltops in the next couple of days, just beware that there’s stuff going on behind the scenes here, and that we’ll try to get everything worked out as quickly as …
