Craft Corner: Fall Flower Garden, Part 1 – Sunflower

Bastelecke: Herbstlicher Blumengarten, Teil 1 – Sonnenblume   Last week I began to show you my most recent fall themed craft projects. This week, I’d like to continue by showing you the flowers I made, with the help of my Silhouette Cameo and cutting files from svgcuts.com. We’ll start with the sunflower. I love how it’s so easy to cut out and put together (you need the Studio Designer Version for your Silhouette), and how much the flower really looks like a sunflower. They’re also perfect to decorate any card you’re making and are sure to give anyone who receives that card a ray of sunshine.   Letzte Woche habe ich angefangen, euch meine neuesten Herbstbasteleien zu zeigen. Of Rain, Lobbies, And Missing Buckets

Vom Regen, einer Eingangshalle und fehlenden Eimern   Check this out: It’s been raining (yes, I talked about that blessing yesterday) but by crossing our lobby, we have no other way to tell than by looking out of the windows. Yes, as a matter of fact, our “rain-proof” in-lobby weather report doesn’t work anymore. All the buckets are gone, and there are no puddles around to tell us to beware that we might need to prepare ourselves for odd weather circumstances outside. Whether the fact that the buckets are missing and the leaks are gone – in other words, whether our personal weather indicator has finally been put out of order is a tragic thing or not, I leave for you to judge.   Seht euch das nur an: Es regnet (ja, über diesen Segen habe ich ja schon gestern philosophiert), aber wenn man unsere Eingangshalle kreuzt kann man nur noch erkennen, dass es draussen regnet, wenn man aus den Fenstern guckt. Rain Rain, Don’t Go Away

Regen Regen, geh nicht fort!   Guess what! It’s been raining.Why that is news worthy? Well, because around here crops have been in serious trouble due to lack of rain and the drought that inevitably has followed. Now at least, the rain has finally come, but whether that actually is able to save the crops, I leave for the more experienced farmers to determine. I for my part, am just glad that we finally have something worth calling rain to report and for the farmers I’m simply relieved.   Ratet mal, was hier los ist! Es regnet! Warum das so eine aufregende Nachricht ist? Naja, weil hier bei uns die Ernte in Schwierigkeiten ist, da es zu wenig regnet und die Trockenheit ihren Tribut fordert. Jetzt aber ist der Regen endlich da, obwohl wir es wohl den erfahrenen Bauern überlassen müssen, darüber zu entscheiden, ob das die Ernte noch retten kann oder nicht. Ich jedenfalls freue mich, dass wir endlich etwas haben, das man Regen nennen kann, und für die Bauern bin ich auch erleichtert.

Freebie Freitag: Like Sunshine – Part 5   I know I’m constantly lagging behind, but life’s just been really busy lately. Still, I believe I have some really good news for you. I did some math the other day, and saw that there are enough weeks left to work on an autumn themed kit, and to still get you another Christmas kit before Christmas season is over. So, even though I might not always get to sharing things with you on time, I hope you keep an eye out toward this little corner of the world, because I fully intend to have shared 2 more kits by mid December.
