Fun with Chinglish: Vigilance and Fire

“Safety comes from continuous vigilance. Fire is due to carelessness!” Another one of the signs on campus. Thanks for the reminder! Note: When posting anything in the Fun with Chinglish section, I don’t mean to show disrespect towards anything or anyone in any way. I’m simply sharing the fun we get to have with all those great signs & documents!

30 Days of Thanks (11)

Today I was very thankful to meet people who came from Germany (though not Germans), and with whom I was able to have a conversation in German, and I’m very thankful for the German chocolate they gave me. I’m also thankful that I was able to play in the autumn leaves this afternoon, and for the caramel tea I had tonight. And, of course, I’m thankful that it’s only 3 more days until the heat will be turned on!

Freebie Friday: Heart of Autumn

Yes, yes, you’re right, we’re a little late this time. But at least I managed to get you another template, and that counts for something, right? So, with no further ado, let me present to you my Template No. 39: Heart of Autumn. This template is based on my page “The Heart of Autumn,” which I created for the SSD portfolio last month. I hope you like it. And as always, I’d be really happy, if you link us up with your finished pages, featuring any of my templates. That’s it for today, and as always: Happy Friday, scrappers! Note: Please do not re-distribute this template in any way (you may share the link to this post), and when you use this template, please make sure to credit it to Misty Hilltops Designs.

Hybrid Hub: Card No. 20

It’s fall y’all – just in case I haven’t mentioned that enough these days! And, because it’s fall, of course, I’m gonna show you a fall-type card today. I made this one with Melissa Bennett’s “Autumn Memories” kit, and “stamped” the sentiment with Darcy Baldwin’s “My Stamp Pad Alpha.” And like most of my cards, it simply says “thank you.”   And now, on to some great news … ta da: Featured Layout The “Featured Layout” is back, just in case you haven’t noticed that either (though some of you have, which means you don’t really need to read the rest of this post, except for what’s going on at the bottom!). This morning, while in the shower, some genius struck me, and I decided to revive my “Featured Layout” page again. I hadn’t posted any of my layouts there in a long time, because I didn’t want to flood the Digi-Scrap Corner with all my layouts, making you feel bored out of your minds, or run away from this site, screaming with annoyance. But …

Autumn’s Fashion

Autumn is the weirdest thing around here. While some trees still are in full and green summer splendor, others have lost all their leaves already. And interspersed between these two – if you look hard enough – you can actually find them – those beautiful autumn colors that I love about this season! So, whenever fall puts on its most colorful dress, I can’t resist! I just have to pack my camera, and get out there to capture some of the season’s latest fashion. In that spirit I went out for a little walk the other day, and look what I found … And then I went out again yesterday, for the sole purpose of taking pictures with my friends, because it’s fall, and because it was a pretty day. And guess what awful thing happened? The battery died! Yes! It died. Just when we wanted to start the photo session. That is, I knew it was almost dead when I left home. But that’s what you got your spare battery for, right? Duhhh! The …

Inspire Me: Jazzmin

Her pages are fun and fresh, and full of excitement. I love  browsing through Jazzmin’s gallery, because she always has new ideas to scrap her memories and her thoughts. Many times have I found inspiration for one of my own pages in her gallery, and if you were to ask me, which of her pages I liked best – I wouldn’t be able to tell you, since she has so many awesome layouts to admire and draw inspiration from. And best of all, she journals in German, which always makes my heart skip with excitement! (For those of you who don’t understand German – even her journaling style is fun to read.) So, if you haven’t heard of Jazzmin yet (she’s also a digiscrap designer with some great products), make sure to check out her gallery for your share of inspiration!
