With the holidays in full swing, and the students all gone, nothing much happens around here, except in the dining hall, where most of my interaction takes place these days. So, of course, I wasn’t much surprised the other day, when all of a sudden Santa Clause strayed into the dining hall when I had just sat down for dinner. Well, granted, he was a rather small-sized version of Santa, and I did prefer to call him Sam Clause, because he usually goes by the name of Sam (if he’s not occupied trying to fill Santa’s big boots that is). Sam Clause, however, wasn’t too happy with us calling him anything related to Santa, despite the evidence of the hat he was wearing, and when I asked him why not, he said, “I’m not Santa Clause, because I’m too little!” Ah, now that, you know, is a really good argument, I have to admit. And thinking about it now, who am I to argue with a witty little six-year old, even if looks a lot …
I know, the sending of my Christmas cards has taken quite a bit of space on my blog these last two months. But guess what I just found out! They arrived! My Christmas Cards arrived. After almost two months, and after I’d already given up all hope and thought all was lost. Of course, they’re too late for the season, but at least they did arrive at last (though it makes me wonder what took so long again this time). Last time I sent Christmas cards, they arrived after 10 days (which I thought was fast), so I’d thought three weeks would be plenty of time for them. But I guess, after having thought all that work of creating those cards had been in vain I’m not complaining. At least they did arrive at last!
Remember the Christmas tree in the lobby, which I showed you a couple of weeks ago in this post? Well, someone made a sad discovery the other day, and pointed out to me that if you look closely enough you’ll find that the decoration at the bottom of the tree (within the range of what people can reach) has pretty much gone! Can you imagine that? We finally have the prettiest tree in the history of our lobby, and then people go and steal the ornaments off the tree! (Which is actually not like very expensive, or exclusive decoration. It’s just the kind of decoration you can get in any store around here!) Unfortunately, when I took my camera with me earlier today, for the sole purpose of providing you some proof of this outrageous crime, I had to realize that the tree was gone. No, no, not what you may think now. No one stole the whole tree. It being mid-January, it was – after all – about time to take it down again. …
Part 4 of the kit “A Cozy Christmas” is ready for download. Sorry, things are always late. Anyhow, you should be able to click on the image to download. And I’m double checking to make sure the links work. If you had trouble downloading part 3 last week, keep trying. I checked the links, and there was nothing wrong with them, and in my file index I can see that people have been downloading. So, keep trying, and I really hope it’ll work. The last part of this kit will follow soon, and I’m well into my next kit – a winter themed little thing. Anyhow, don’t forget that products you download from mistyhilltops.com are for personal use only, and if you’d like to share them with others, simply send them this way. As always, happy scrapping!
Well, I finally managed not only to print, cut, and put everything together, but also to photograph the album, process the pictures and upload it. So, here I happily present to you my completed December Daily Album 2012:
Guess what? I fear the very worst has happened. Do you remember how I sent a bunch of Christmas to my friends and family early in December? I did it really early this time, really wanting to make sure they’d arrive in time. But as I’m sure you’re able to guess now – the very worst has happened. They haven’t arrived at all yet. And I don’t need to tell you that we’re way past Christmas! Maybe the ribbons and all that were too much of a threat!
December 2012 is over – and to be honest, I’m glad I’m done with the December Daily this year. Don’t get me wrong, I love doing it because if nothing else, it helps me live the season very consciously and make the most of every day, but I’m glad I don’t have to try and keep up with a page for every day anymore. I still have two more pages I need to show you, and soon I’ll be ready to share with you the finished project. See my other weekly recaps here: Week 5 Week 4 Week 3 Week 2 Week 1
