Time for the next installment of my digital scrapbook kit “A Cozy Christmas.” Today you’ll get the second set of papers. So, that’s it for this week. Don’t forget to come back next week for the first set of elements, and if you’ve missed the earlier parts of this kit, you can still grab them by finding the earlier posts tagged “freebie.” Don’t forget that everything under the copyright of Misty Hilltops Designs, so proper accreditation is required if you want to use this product. Happy Friday, scrappers!

The Gingerbread House Aftermath

Do you see this … > ??? It’s all that’s left of our poor gingerbread house. Or, well, in fact, it’s actually less than that. But what are gingerbread houses for, eh? Right? Anyhow. This being my first ever really-made-from-scratch gingerbread house, I was actually pleasantly surprised to find it didn’t taste all too poor. All that sugar-coating had quite taken over any spicy after-taste that might have been left from the gingerbread when I first tasted it. And our friends never minded anyways. They had a blast, ripping apart what we had put together in so many hours, and eating away the candy and the sugar. Talking of “candy and sugar” … by the way, did you know that in Chinese they are one and the same? No wonder, my students keep talking about how they eat sugar, when – in fact – they mean candy. And it is left to me to figure out how much of a sweet tooth they really are! On that note … I’m going to be out for …

Hybrid Hub: Christmas Cards – Part 5

I hope you all had a wonderful and restful couple of Christmas days. I sure did enjoy my time with my friends this year. And since the Christmas season is drawing to an end, today I’m going to share my last installment of Christmas cards for this year. Supplies used: A Frosty Christmas by Julie Billingsley, card stock, ribbon     Supplies used: Glorious by Eva Kipler & Studio Flergs, card stock, yarn     Supplies used: Life is Wonderful by Traci Reed & Meghan Mullens, card stock

Gingerbread Delights

I hope you are having pleasant holidays. In that part of the world where I grew up, today’s still a full holiday, and so I was intent on continuing my celebrations. For me, that means, more special treats from home – like this gingerbread cookie mix that comes with some of my favorite Christmas treats. Anyhow, to those of you who are still celebrating, I wish a happy 2. Christmas Day!

Christmas Time Is Here …

… and that means our days are filled with phone calls, celebrations, and a whole lot of merriness. I for one am very happy, because (among many other good reasons) today, for the first time in years, I got a real Christmas present. All wrapped up and such. And it wasn’t just one present, but a couple of things that will help make my Christmas season next year real sweet again. Wrapped in pretty papers, I found things like … – spices (cloves and nutmeg), which are hard to come by here – a gingerbread house cutter kit (now you have to say that out loud to make it sound real good!) – a card game “Bohnanza,” which will be a perfect pastime for my students (though I’m afraid I might have forgotten the rules) I hope, you are having a pleasant holiday as well. Cheers, and happy celebrating!

Merry Christmas

Since it’s Christmas and all, these days, I thought I’d take today (and the next two days) off from talking about digi-scrapping. But I’m not going to abandon you for a couple of days without wishing all of you a very merry Christmas. And I want to thank you for stopping by my little corner and taking the time to visit me this way. Knowing how many of you are checking out what’s new at mistyhilltops.com every day has made blogging a fun, rewarding and worth-while experience for me over the last two years. Thanks to all of you, and happy holidays!
