And the Lights Are On

Und dann gingen die Lichter an In a land where Christmas isn’t a holiday, it’s always an adventure trying to do something festive. Especially when among people who care very little for such festivities. So, when you ask me how this years Christmas tree lighting fest turned out – let’s just say it was very noisy and reminded me and a lot of my colleagues of a circus. But at least I got my piece of pie (which is huge, because there were far too many people for the few treats that were being offered), and sang my part of the Christmas carols as loud as I could. If I couldn’t hear the rest of the other carolers, at least I could hear myself.  So, all in all, I’d consider it a successful Christmas tree lighting fest.

Document Christmas 2016 – A First Glance

Mein Weihnachtsalbum 2016 – Erster Einblick It’s finally here. Christmas season 2016. (At least in Germany with the first of Advent tomorrow, the season has officially started.) And have started my Document Christmas Project 2016. (I don’t really like to call it December Daily, because my Christmas season starts at the end of November and ends in the beginning of January – as for countless other people in Germany as well.) And as promised, here is a first glance at my project this year. You can actually see the TEMPLATE in action now, and maybe that’ll help you get inspired, too. I used all three styles that came with the template, and of course, the photo pockets, that I’ve been sharing as freebies lately. In the end, I’m going to print this on white cardstock, cut the pages in half, and turn this into an actual album.

christmas, purple

A Purple Christmas

Lila Weihnacht Christmas in the city is purple this year! Or, at least in that part of town where I went this weekend. Or at least in the mall where I went this Saturday. But then, with colors for Christmas around here being limited to about exactly 4 (red, gold, silver, blue, and yes, … the occasional purple), this purple shopping mall might actually be a welcome change.

Document Christmas (Or: December Daily) – 2016

Dokumentiere Weihnachten (oder: December Daily) 2016 Whaaa! It’s that time of year again, to get going on that Christmas album. I’ve been doing it for six years now (I think) and it’s always such a wonderful experience. Of course, as usual, I’m kind of late with starting to talk about it here just now, but then, we still have about two weeks to go until December. For my part, I’ve decided to go all digital again this year. Did an all out hybrid album last year, which turned out beautiful (and I’m going to share the details with you on Thursday in my hybrid post, since I never shared any of it with you last year). But since I’m too busy for doing a hybrid album this year, I’m glad I do have the digital alternative, which does go a lot faster. For those of you who have never done a Christmas album, or are looking for more ideas or inspiration, check out my post from two years ago, titled “Document Christmas – 5 Good Reasons …

David Against Goliath

David gegen Goliath I’m well aware that the way the story goes, you’re supposed to favor David and really opt against Goliath. I’ve understood this and the message is clear to me. In my present case, however, I hope you’ll show a little leniency with me that for once I would favor Goliath over David. After all, he promises a lot more sweet delights than David. At least when it comes to my two chocolate Santa Clauses that I haven’t yet had the time to devour as there have been so many other good, delicious things to enjoy over Christmas.
