Hybrid Hub: Milk Cartons in a Carrier

Bastelecke: Milchkartons im Träger   Happy new year to all of you. Before moving on to new topics and projects, I’d like to share my last Christmas project of the season. A couple of weeks ago, I made this little carrier with milk cartons. I made the cut file in my Silhouette Studio, printed some of the papers from my Holly & Pine kit, then had my Silhouette Cameo cut out the entire shabeng. Here’s how that turned out: Frohes neues Jahr euch allen. Bevor ich mich aber neuen Themen und Projekten zuwenden möchte, würde ich gerne noch mein letztes Weihnachtsprojekt dieser Saison mit euch teilen. Vor ein paar Wochen habe ich nämlich diesen kleinen Träger mit Milchkartons gebastelt. Die Schneideschablone habe ich mir dafür in der Silhouette Studio Software zusammengeschustert. Dann habe ich alles auf den Papieren meiner Holly und Pine Kollektion ausgedruckt und das ganze dann mit meiner Cameo geschnitten. Und dies ist dabei herausgekommen:

Weihnachtsalbum 2014 – Woche 5 Rückblick (Teil 1) Here’s the next part of my weekly recaps. Except that, this week there were so many special activities that I decided to make a page for each event. Which also means that there’ll be more pages than usually, so I decided to divide this week’s review. Therefore, you get the first part today. Someone Broke Into the Gingerbread House!

Einbruch ins Lebkuchenhaus   Guess what! Someone broke into the gingerbread house. But then, I guess, that was to be expected these days. It’s Christmas, after all. Or at least in Germany it still is! So you can’t blame those curious noses who stuck themselves too deep into all the goodies sticking to the gingerbread house. I hope you’re all having a pleasant time! Ratet mal, was passiert ist! Jemand ist ins Lebkuchenhaus eingebrochen! Aber zugegeben, das war dieser Tage wohl zu erwarten! Immerhin ist es Weihnachten. Zumindest in Deutschland. Also kann man den neugierigen Nasen wohl keinen Vorwurf machen, die sich selbst du tief in die Naschereien gesteckt haben, die an dem Haus stecken. Nun denn, ich hoffe, ihr alle habt schöne Feiertage.                   Oh, and look! We’ve been having snow! Now that’s what I call a real Christmas! Oh, und seht mal! Es hat geschneit. Also, das nenne ich mal ein richtiges Weihnachten!    

Camels & Co. – A Christmas Story

Kamele & Co. – Eine Weihnachtsgeschichte I’m not sure what you think about this whole business, but to me, Christmas is no real Christmas without the story behind the event. Fortunately, I didn’t have to forego the pleasure of indulging myself in the Christmas story once more this year. In fact, there was more satisfaction to be had this time than I usually encounter, for this afternoon we were presented with the full shabeng, including firework throwing angels and a camel that managed to handle nothing but itself. A true Christmas, after all! Ich bin mir nicht sicher, was ihr von der ganzen Sache haltet, aber ohne die Geschichte, die dahinter steht ist Weihnachten für mich nicht Weihnachten. Glücklicherweise, musste ich dieses Jahr nicht auf die Annehmlichkeit verzichten, die Weihnachtsgeschichte ein weiteres Mal zu genießen. Tatsächlich war es noch um einiges befriedigender als ich es normalerweise kenne, denn heute nachmittag gab es für uns das volle Programm, einschließlich Feuerwerksspeiender Engel und einem Kamel, dass es gerade mal schaffte, sich selbst im Griff zu haben. Christmas Market – Deluxe

Weihnachtsmarkt Deluxe   It’s been quite a number of years since I last spent Christmas in good ol’ Germany, so I’m determined to make the most of it. This, of course, means that today I grabbed my family and dragged them into the city of Stuttgart, where we wanted to visit another Christmas market (though, admittedly, it wasn’t so much dragging them as they were more than willing to oblige and come along). It’s the last chance of visiting the market as Christmas is drawing near and such markets usually close the day before Christmas, which is … today. As we started out, we were a little disappointed because there seemed to be even less little huts and cabins than in my home town, and trust me, Stuttgart is much much larger than home. But dear sister kept assuring us that the Stuttgart Christmas market truly is large and that we’d only need to find it. Thanks to modern telecommunication, she was able to locate the main venue, which was just around a bend and …

The Gingerbread House

Das Lebkuchenhaus   What’s Christmas without a gingerbread house? Since making one has been part of my Christmas traditions in recent years, I couldn’t just let this year slip without trying it. Only, this time, I got to do it with my family. As we’ve been really busy, we decided to go with a ready made kit and it only took half an evening to make. You can see for yourself how it turned out: Was ist Weihnachten ohne ein Lebkuchenhaus? Da es in den letzten Jahren Teil meiner Weihnachtstraditionen geworden ist, konnte ich dieses Jahr nicht einfach übergehen. Und dieses Jahr war mal die Familie dran!
