Traveler’s Notebook Layout: Snow

For the title I used one of the die cut alphas from my stash. The flowers, too, comes from one of my die cut sets. The word strips I made myself on the computer. Traveler’s Notebook Layout: Winter Is Here

I started this page by dapping water color in the background, using a piece of acetate. Then I used texture paste to apply some snowflakes on the background. Meanwhile, I created a circle template made up of variously sized paper strips. After distressing the edges and adhering the paper strips onto the circle background paper, I ran the entire circle through my sewing machine. Then I attached it to the background page, and added the photo and various embellishments. Finally, I added the title and cut the circle through the center of the two halves of this Traveler’s Notebook spread. Watch a flip through of this album on Youtube. We had an unusual amount of snow that lasted longer than the usual two days, and as always – we made the most of it. And I wanted to preserve the memories in a little traveler’s notebook album. I used the paper pad Winter Forest and created my first page using a bit of mixed media with watercolor paint splats and stamps. And I also ran the paper through my sewing machine. This time I have something for Silhouette Studio users. I love creating mini albums, and over that last couple of years, I’ve created a good number of them. This one I designed completely from scratch to use with 5×5 inch paper sizes. You see, recently I found these adorable 10 inch paper packs that I fell in love with. And they were perfect to cut down to 5 inch paper sizes. So, I needed an album to go with it. The albums I have in my Silhouette library are all exactly 5×5, for which I’d either have to cut down the papers a bit, or resize the album, but that often messes with thee proportions. 2018 Dezember Karten Inspiration Today I thought I’d show you the journaling cards I’ll be using for my December Album this year. I designed most of them for last year’s Document December Album, loved how they turned out and decided I wanted to use them again. I merely switched the colors to match this year’s project. I’d love to share them with you. However, I’m not sure about copyright/ commercial rights of the fonts I used. Of course, sharing them as freebies, I wouldn’t make any money off these cards, and sharing them in flattened png images, they wouldn’t be of use to anyone else, still, I haven’t figured out whether using them to share with you guys is legal, and I don’t want to get into trouble over something that I give away as freebies. Document December 2018 – A First Glimpse

December, however, usually is also the busiest month of the year for me, what with all the traditions and the celebrations. At the same time, I love doing Document December projects to commemorate the season. Last year, I bought a pretty Christmas paper pack that I was eager to use. But all the while I was wondering: How can I embark on another December Daily journey without it taking too much of my time? The answer: A super simple album that I prepare ahead of time, and that I then only need to fill with photos and journaling. So, I can honestly say, I’ve never been so on top of things with my DD projects as this year.
