Treasure Sunday: January 8th

I’ve been hunting again. Those treasures in the galleries, that is. And look what I found … Crash Landing by ~Karen~ I was having so much fun with this page. Not only do I like the line across the page to which she clipped her elements and title, but the photo captures the memory perfectly, and the journaling says it all!   Street Art by faby33 Moving on to a quite graphic and artistic page. What a great job she did with the brushes and the blending. I love the messiness of it all, the stamps she added, and the bits and pieces of wordart blended into the whole!   Glimpses of Prague by Therese And while we’re at it, I’m going to show you another quite graphic, but beautiful page! What totally caught my eye with this one, were the beautiful photographs that she edited so perfectly. Love the title work, too, and that with the huge white space, she gave the photos room to speak for themselves!   50 Things About Me by …

Freebie Friday: Life

Freebie Friday always is a happy Friday for me, since I get to share another one of my templates with you. This one’s featuring my layout “Life Happens,” and I love how it’s the 44th freebie template that I’ve created for you! Anyways, I hope you can find some use for this template, and as always I’d like to see what you do with it. Happy Friday, scrappers! Note: Please do not re-distribute this template in any way (you may share the link to this post), and when you use this template, please make sure to credit it to Misty Hilltops Designs.

Inspire Me: Kelly Purkey

Wow! It’s been a while since I did my last real “Inspire Me” post. Looks like Christmas and the December Daily project just had me distracted quite some. But today, Inspire Me is back. And today … I’d like to introduce you to Kelly Purkey. Kelly is a gal from New York who’s real big into traditional scrapbooking, but she gives each of her pages her own hip twist. She is a member of the design team over at Studio Calico, and that seriously means something, right? You’ll find tons of inspiration simply by visiting her blog, and then there’s her gallery at Studio Calico, too.

Journaling Café: New Beginnings

A new year has started: 2012! A new year means another chance at life; another chance to start all over; to make a new beginning. I’m sure, there are things in your life for which you wish for a new beginning, another chance to make things better. Today’s journaling prompts, therefore, are all about these new beginnings, and maybe they’ll inspire you to think about that which in your life needs a fresh start … Here’s my page about new beginnings: I hope, today’s prompts will inspire your journaling this week, and if you like, you can share your pages with us as well. The font used for the prompt is my own handwriting font DJB Squirrels In My Pants by Darcy Baldwin (available at the Sweetshoppe).

Happy New Year, And Good News!

Well, I’ve wished you a happy new year already, so now it’s time to share some good news with you as well! The Sweetshoppe is open again, and that means we are in for some yummy treats. Not only do they present themselves with an all new look, and new features, tutorials, etc., but for those freebie lovers among you, I have some especially good news: SSD changed their policy (no freebies in the past), so now they offer free samples of their designs on their website. It gets even better. What used to be their Quarterly Assortment (a huge collection of mini kits for a really really low price) has turned into a free giveaway! So, whether you’re new to digiscrapping and are looking for some great products to start with, or whether you’re an old pro, you’ll sure be able to find something to complement your scrapping stash. Just sayin’ …

Treasure Sunday: January 1st

Happy new year!!! Can you believe it’s 2012 already? Anyways, I have a  new set of gems to show off to you again today, and I hope you don’t mind if they seem to be a little “old”, since they’re from last year ;-).   The Bus by fonnetta I’m starting off the fingerpointing with this page which is all about waiting – for the school bus, that is! So full of bright colors and fun elements, this page also has a great composition, with the large photo that is perfectly complemented by the smaller photo and the journaling touches. It’s just so much fun to look at this page!   Remember It All by Natascha Next, I want to point to this page, which is another one that I just can’t take my eyes off because there’s so much to discover. With all the papers stacked on top of each other, it has a great composition as well, the colors make it all fun and bright, and all the little and big elements are …

December Daily – Week 5 Recap

I did it! As of today, I’ve completed my 2011 December Daily project, and I’m all excited about it. Have all but the last week printed and cut already, and tomorrow I’ll assemble it into an actual album! But before I’m running away with myself, let me show you what I’ve done this past week (images are linked to gallery for product information): And now I’m very relieved that I can move on to some other scrapping projects again. But I’ll post my finished album, once I can get good pictures of it. PS. For more inspiration, see Week 4, Week 3, Week 2, and Week 1.

Freebie Friday: Review

Boy, it’s late! And I should be in bed. But I managed to get you a brand new template again. With the year coming to a closure, I thought it would be good to get you a template that would help you scrap your year in review. But it’s also versatile enough that you can use it for any other ordinary page. And if you don’t have 12 photos you want to scrap, just use paper instead. So, here comes based on my page “Year in Review:”   I hope you’ll find some use for this template somehow. And I’m gonna leave you as always wishing you happy scrapping! Note: Please do not re-distribute this template in any way (you may share the link to this post), and when you use this template, please make sure to credit it to Misty Hilltops Designs.

Enable Me: Christmas Words

If you’re still working on some Christmas layouts, then this post might be for you. This Christmas season, I went collecting. In my notebook, I kept a growing list of Christmas themed words that would do great for titles, word art and word strips. And I thought I’d share that list with you, before the season is entirely over. So here goes … – adorn – advent – all is calm – angel – bells – bright – candle light – caroling – decoration – fa la la – family – festive – holiday – holly – jolly – joy – naughty or nice – merry – mistletoe – nativity – noel – peace – season – sparkle – star – tradition – twinkle – wish And if you know some more words that would do great on a layout, just post a comment and we can keep this list growing …
