Freebie Friday: A Cozy Christmas, Part 1

It’s Friday again, and today that’s an especially exciting occasion, because I’m starting to share my first ever Christmas kit with you “A Cozy Christmas.” It comes with a huge assortment of papers and embellies, and what’s best about it: It’s all free for you. All you have to do is come back over the next couple of weeks to collect the different parts, and then you’ll be able to scrap your most recent Christmas memories. Today, you’ll be able to snatch the alpha, and next week you’ll get the first part of the papers. I’d also like to remind you that the download links for most of my former freebie templates have been reactivated again, so if you’re still missing a couple, you should be able to download them now. Finally, when you download any of the products by Misty Hilltops Designs, proper accreditation when using these products on your layouts and designs is required. Please do not directly share any MHT Designs products with anyone. If you wish to have others enjoy these …

Hybrid Hub: Christmas Cards, Part 4

Only a few more days till Christmas, which means it’s really time to wrap up all the preparations. Probably, at this point it’s too late to send out Christmas cards, but since we’re still in the middle of the season, I’m still going to show you a couple more of the Christmas cards I made this year …   Peaceful Holidays Supplies used: Christmas Countdown by Traci Reed & Meghan Mullens, card stock, ribbon   Christmas Season Supplies used: Winter Wonderland by Zoe Pearn, card stock, ribbon   Merry Christmas   Supplies used: Christmas Countdown by Kristin Cronin-Barrow & Zoe Pearn

Behind the Scenes: Creating a Frosted Look

Christmas time is winter time. At least where I’m from. And who of us doesn’t dream of a white Christmas? As many of us are moving into the cold season, we also get to scrap more of those chilly, frosty memories. So, I think it’s the perfect time to talk a little bit about how to add a little bit of frosting to our pages. If you’ve seen some of my December Daily pages this year, you may have noticed that some of them come with a nice frosted feel to them. And if you’ve wondered how to create this effect, I can tell you: it’s super simple. Take a look at one of my early DD pages: If you take a closer look, you’ll notice that around the edges some of my papers seem to be frosted. You can easily add your own frost layer by playing just a little with your style settings. (This technique can be applied to papers, elements, as well as text.) Here’s how it works … Choose the paper or …

Journaling Café: Christmas Wishes

One more week, and we will begin the Christmas 2012 celebrations! Can you believe another year has gone by so fast? Anyhow, since for Christmas a lot of people think about their wishes, their hopes and dreams, today’s journaling prompts will encourage you to reflect a little on your wishes (or the wishes of those you care for). And for starters, I have made a page of my own: Font used in the journaling prompt above is DJB Squirrels in My Pants by Darcy Baldwin. Available at Sweetshoppe Designs.

December Daily 2012: Week 3 Recap

It’s hard to fathom that Christmas is so close again already. I’ve had another week full of busy activities, and would like to share my latest on the current DD album: All images above are linked (for credits and larger view). If you are doing the December Daily, I hope your pages are coming together as well. That’s from me for this week. And don’t forget to pick up this week’s last part of my freebie kit “A Grateful Heart,” if you haven’t done so already.

Freebie Friday: A Grateful Heart, Part 5

I’m so excited it’s Friday again, and I’m excited for three very good reasons! Reason #1: Today I’m sharing with you the last part of my first ever digital scrapbook kit “A Grateful Heart,” which means you guys are finally gonna be able to use the whole kit to scrap with. Reason #2: It’s Christmas season and the holidays are only a few more weeks away. And because Christmas is the season of sharing joy and happiness more abundantly, I thought I’d do my share and spread a little extra joy myself. So, I’ve activated the links to older freebie templates again (sorry, should’ve told you much earlier, because I did it weeks ago and simply forgot to tell you about it …). So, if you’ve liked some of my templates in the past and missed to pick them up – now’s your chance to do so. Reason #3: I’ve completed my next (Christmas themed) scrapbook kit, and I’m excited to share a first glance of it here today. But first, here is the link …

Inspire Me: Traci Reed

One of the people whose December Daily project has served as great inspiration for me this year has been Traci Reed.   I love how she fills her album with all the mess and beauty of her everyday life and special activities in December. Every page looks very different, and you can get tons of inspiration just by looking at her current project. Traci has been great at posting her project so far, and you can check it out on her blog: HERE.
