We wake up in beautiful surroundings. After breakfast, we set out on a grand tour of Tuscany. We spend most of the day on the road, stopping here or there to enjoy the scenery.

Wir wachen auf in schönster Umgebung. Nach dem Frühstück gehts los auf große Tour durch die Toskana. Den größten Teil des Tages verbringen wir damit, die Landschaft abzufahren, und die Gegend zu genießen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here is the  tour that we did today, starting in the Chianti area in the north, passing San Gimignano, Siena, Taverne D’Arbia, Asciano and ending at the Chapel Vitaleta.

Hier ist die Tour, die wir heute gemacht haben. In Chianti (Gegend) ging es los, über San Gimignano, Siena, Taverne D’Arbia und Asciano. An der Kapelle Vitaleta beendeten wir unsere Tour.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We stop in San Gimignano where I tour the picturesque little town by myself.

Wir halten in San Gimignano, wo ich mir die malerische kleine Stadt ansehe. 

 

 

 

 

Then we drive straight into the heartland of Tuscany. We just pass the town of Siena without stopping there. D’Arbia is our next destination. The road takes us past fields, and along cypress alleys towards Asciano.
Somewhere here we have lunch at a little spot off the road, right in the Tuscan fields.

Dann geht es direkt ins Herz der Toskana. Wir fahren an Siena vorbei, und dann nach D’Arbia. Die Straße führt durch Felder und an Zypressen Alleen vorbei in Richtung Asciano. An einem netten Plätzchen abseits der Straße halten wir zum Mittagessen – mitten in toskanischen Feldern.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the afternoon, we arrive at the Chapel Vitaleta. A dirt road takes us to a small parking area (not really a parking lot). The only indication we have that we’re right is the fact that a number of other cars have parked here. 
From the parking lot it’s about a 10 minute walk over to the chapel.

Nachmittags kommen wir dann an der Kapelle Vitaleta an. Eine Schotterstraße führt zu einem kleinen Parkplatz (nicht wirklich als solcher ausgewiesen). Der einzige Hinweis, dass wir richtig sind, ist die Tatsache, dass eine Reihe von Autos hier geparkt haben.
Vom Parkplatz läuft man dann nochmals etwa 10 Minuten zur Kapelle.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We like the chapel. But it’s too early in the afternoon, so we decide to return in the evening. We find a nice spot along the dirt road. It has a great view over the surrounding country, and we spend the hours here until the sun is setting. We like the spot so much that we decide to spend the night here.

Die Kapelle gefällt uns. Da es aber noch helllichter Nachmittag ist, entscheiden wir uns, gegen Abend nochmals zurückzukehren. Wir finden ein hübsches Plätzchen entlang der Schotterstraße, wo wir eine herrliche Aussicht genießen, und die Stunden verweilen, bis die Sonne sich neigt. Der Platz gefällt uns so sehr, dass wir beschließen, hier die Nacht zu verbringen.

Then spend the night in the most beautiful Tuscan countryside.
