Feeling Sick

130103-Photo-Jan

After a weekend full of people, that is, full of hanging out with people, things have changed a little this week. I’ve been feeling rather sick. Not because of the people I hung out with, really. But because some of these people were sick. Now they’re well, and a whole bunch of us others started feeling sick this week. I for one. And so my new year’s week has been basically all about my bed and some movie watching. Not quite the exciting way of starting the new year, is it?

Calendar 2013

2013 is well on its way, and of course it’s way too late talking about creating calendars. But I have my wall calendar that I created some time back using Cindy Schneider’s calendar templates. And today would be a good opportunity to show you what I did for my calendar. I made different versions – German and English, switched out photos etc. and had them printed, and I think they make awesome presents. Just take a look …

New Meal Schedule

130102-IMG_5474

When it comes to meals and holidays, there’s a slight dilemma. You see, we get our meals served three times a day, buffet style. Now, that’s not the dilemma. That’s what I call service – never having to clean up dishes, I don’t mind that (though I really wouldn’t mind doing some cooking of my own every once in a while). But generally speaking, it’s a good thing that we get meals served three times a day.

For the winter break, however, things change. With “things” I mean the meal service. The problem is: breakfast would have to be finished before 8:30 in order for the staff to be able to prepare lunch in time. But, while on holiday, who wants to get up in the whee hours of the morning only to get breakfast? Most of my colleagues wouldn’t. So, the meal schedule changes to two meals a day. Two meals at very odd hours … a 9:30 breakfast, and a 5 o’clock dinner. With lots of nothing in between.

I don’t mind, though. Even though I usually get up way before 9:30, I enjoy being able to snack a little more on little things in between. And so, I’ve been looking forward to meal-time-change this winter.

Enable Me: Project Life

Alright, friends. Let’s start off this year with some inspiration. And since it’s the beginning of the year, we can’t avoid talking about Project Life. If you’ve been around any of the major digiscrap forums, it’s all too prominent – Project Life is everywhere. At least at my favorite store, the designers are whipping products for the use of PL like crazy, and if you take a look at the gallery at SSD, it seems like everyone is intent on doing it this year.

It seems.

I for one, will not embark on that journey. Not because I don’t like PL. On the contrary. But I know myself too well. And I know that 2013 is probably going to be the busiest year of my life (because I’m approaching the end of my postgraduate studies which means I’ve got major projects to work on). So, I’ve decided that I’m not going to add another project to my busy schedule. But that doesn’t mean we can’t talk about PL here in my little Digiscrap Corner. So, I went on a little search, just to give you some ideas of what you could do with your project life …

Of course, the classic take would be to begin with page protectors, a bunch of journal cards, and some photos, like so …

or so …

or so …

But then there are even more ways you can scrap your Project Life.

How about without the pockets. Like so …

Or so …

Or so …

Or so …

And that’s still not the end of your possibilities. You could even do something like this …

Or this …

Or this …

Or use one of Cindy Schneider’s templates, like this …

Or approach it like this …

Oh, and since we still need a last layout to show off, what about this one?

Anyhow, since we’re sharing some inspiration already, what about hooking you up with a couple of sites that have pretty awesome inspiration? Here’s lots more to get you motivated for PL:

So, will you be more brave than I and dare to embark on this journey of Project Life?
