Traveler’s Notebook Layout: Hygge

It’s a mixed media page and I began by drawing stripes with watercolor. I also added some paint splats. After roughing up the edges of the papers from the paper pad “Winter Forest,” I added those, and using two square die cuts of varying sizes, cut out two frames that I doodled on. For finishing touches I added word strips and the pair of die cut mittens that I cut from paper that I had colored with watercolor. Traveler’s Notebook Layout: January Magic

Once the watercolor dried, I added the papers, poto, and embellishments. I made two clusters – one large one, and one photoless one on the top right side. Here, I also stamped the background before adding any papers and embellishments. The title I partly stamped, partly used one of my die cut alphas. I also stamped and fussy cut a few labels. To give everything its finishing touches, I punched a few snowflakes and die cut various pieces of foliage and the bow. The title I stamped, partly directly on the background, some of them on small die cut pieces. We had an unusual amount of snow that lasted longer than the usual two days, and as always – we made the most of it. And I wanted to preserve the memories in a little traveler’s notebook album. I used the paper pad Winter Forest and created my first page using a bit of mixed media with watercolor paint splats and stamps. And I also ran the paper through my sewing machine. This time I have something for Silhouette Studio users. I love creating mini albums, and over that last couple of years, I’ve created a good number of them. This one I designed completely from scratch to use with 5×5 inch paper sizes. You see, recently I found these adorable 10 inch paper packs that I fell in love with. And they were perfect to cut down to 5 inch paper sizes. So, I needed an album to go with it. The albums I have in my Silhouette library are all exactly 5×5, for which I’d either have to cut down the papers a bit, or resize the album, but that often messes with thee proportions. Or the library albums had very rounded corners, or … you get the idea. So, I decided to start with a true 5×5 inch paper size and design my album around it. I …

2018 Dezember Karten Inspiration Today I thought I’d show you the journaling cards I’ll be using for my December Album this year. I designed most of them for last year’s Document December Album, loved how they turned out and decided I wanted to use them again. I merely switched the colors to match this year’s project. I’d love to share them with you. However, I’m not sure about copyright/ commercial rights of the fonts I used. Of course, sharing them as freebies, I wouldn’t make any money off these cards, and sharing them in flattened png images, they wouldn’t be of use to anyone else, still, I haven’t figured out whether using them to share with you guys is legal, and I don’t want to get into trouble over something that I give away as freebies. If any of you know the details about copyright laws, etc. you’re welcome to drop a comment below to point me in the right direction. Document December 2018 – A First Glimpse

December, however, usually is also the busiest month of the year for me, what with all the traditions and the celebrations. At the same time, I love doing Document December projects to commemorate the season. Last year, I bought a pretty Christmas paper pack that I was eager to use. But all the while I was wondering: How can I embark on another December Daily journey without it taking too much of my time? The answer: A super simple album that I prepare ahead of time, and that I then only need to fill with photos and journaling. So, I can honestly say, I’ve never been so on top of things with my DD projects as this year. Admitted, I got behind for various reasons, but I’m still enjoying working on my pages.
