Hybrid Hub: Card No. 20

It’s fall y’all – just in case I haven’t mentioned that enough these days! And, because it’s fall, of course, I’m gonna show you a fall-type card today. I made this one with Melissa Bennett’s “Autumn Memories” kit, and “stamped” the sentiment with Darcy Baldwin’s “My Stamp Pad Alpha.” And like most of my cards, it simply says “thank you.”   And now, on to some great news … ta da: Featured Layout The “Featured Layout” is back, just in case you haven’t noticed that either (though some of you have, which means you don’t really need to read the rest of this post, except for what’s going on at the bottom!). This morning, while in the shower, some genius struck me, and I decided to revive my “Featured Layout” page again. I hadn’t posted any of my layouts there in a long time, because I didn’t want to flood the Digi-Scrap Corner with all my layouts, making you feel bored out of your minds, or run away from this site, screaming with annoyance. But …

Hybrid Hub: Card No. 19

I’ve mentioned it before, I’m no fan of Halloween. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like halloween colors. On the contrary. Today I want to show off a birthday card I made last year that features the typical halloween colors of orange, gray, and black. I created this card with a limited edition kit by the Sweetshoppe designers, added a ribbon and some accents, and there was a card to brighten up someone’s birthday!

Check out my next Thank-You card. I made it with Libby Pritchett’s “Apples on a Stick,” and used Darcy Baldwin’s Stamp Pad Alpha for the sentiment. The ribbon was a simple piece of lace someone else had cut off their bedding, and altogether this makes another little card that will make someone happy, I’m sure.

Let’s take a look at another thank-you card that I created a while back. This one was put together with a mini kit by Kristin Cronin-Barrow, which was part of a Quarterly Assortment last year, and still available at SSD. I also used Darcy Baldwin’s Stamp Pad Alpha for this. It comes with a pretty simple design, but adding the right kind of papers, it’ll make anyone happy to receive this little handcrafted token of gratitude.

Monday Highlight: A Minibook of Memories

Yes, you’re right: It’s been a little quiet in my galleries recently. For one, I’ve been really busy with work and real life lately, and for another: I got inspired. “Inspired?” you ask. Yep. Another one of my inspirations. This time it’s all about minibooks. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, just hop on over to this place HERE. Take a look at this lady’s scrap-creations. In my opinion, she’s created some pretty amazing minibooks. Or THIS one. This lady, too, has lots of super fun travel books/journals that she creates. So much inspiration to look at. It actually got me thinking: I hardly ever print out photos. And wouldn’t it be fun to have a little collection of photos, memories, journaling to put together into a small photo/minibook? Well, I didn’t just think about it. I actually went ahead and did it. Or at least, I started it. Still got a lot more pages to do (and am realizing that this book probably exceeds the size that I had expected it to …

Hybrid Hub: Card No. 16

October is the perfect month for flying kites – at least in Germany, where I grew up. So, it’s the perfect timing to share with you this happy thank-you-card – one of my all-time favorites that I created last year. I used Misty Cato’s “Blue Skies Smiling,” a beautiful scrapbooking kit that comes with pretty patterned papers, and the perfect set of elements for this hybrid project. For the sentiment, I used Darcy Baldwin’s Stamp Pad Alpha.

Hybrid Hub: Thank You Card No. 15

It was a happy hour for my hybrid heart today. I was out on a stroll on campus, when I came across a little shop that said “stationary store” on the outside. Had never really been in there, so I thought, I’d take a peek. Have been looking for some ways to create a hybrid mini book/album, but nothing the usual stationary/craft stores around have to offer would work for me. But lo, setting my foot into that store, I soon realized I had dug up a treasure! I sure must have spent at least an hour in there, combing through their piles of stuff, and in the end, left with an emptier purse than I had meant to, but a bag full of treasures and a happy heart. Now I have ribbons, miniature size (bull) clips, notebooks (that will do perfectly once I’ve torn them apart and use the paper for scrapping), and I even found a way how I could put together my December Daily album from last year that still needs lots …

Hybrid Hub: Friends

Last week I told you that I had done another hybrid layout, so here it is: Over at the Pencil Lines blog, I’d found a pretty page that I felt would be great for scraplifting (esp. with the limited supplies I have here in China): I loved the composition, and the embellies it required wouldn’t make the cutting process too arduous. Also, I wanted to create a page that was meaningful for me, so I decided to scrap about some of my friends from a long time ago. Basically, I created the layout on my computer, then resized and transferred everything to several sheets of A4 size paper, printed, cut, and assembled it. I also thought about creating some paper crafted flowers to add, but then decided to stick with the printed flowers, because the page will turn out flat, which will make storing it in a folder a lot easier. (I don’t have access to a scrapbook album here.) And the flowers that came with this kit still look pretty, even when printed. Let’s …

Hybrid Hub: Thank You Card No. 14

I still have lots of hybrid projects to share with you in store (just finished another layout this morning, which I’ll be sharing with you some times soon), but today, I’m gonna show you another very simple card. This one was done with a collab by Traci Reed and MandaBean (retired SSD) “With or Without You,” and I used Darcy Baldwin’s Stamp Pad Alpha to “stamp” the sentiment. It’s so much fun, to turn a digital product into an actual hybrid project, and if you haven’t tried it yourself, it might be worth it giving it a shot!
