Treasure Sunday: January 1st

Happy new year!!! Can you believe it’s 2012 already? Anyways, I have a  new set of gems to show off to you again today, and I hope you don’t mind if they seem to be a little “old”, since they’re from last year ;-).   The Bus by fonnetta I’m starting off the fingerpointing with this page which is all about waiting – for the school bus, that is! So full of bright colors and fun elements, this page also has a great composition, with the large photo that is perfectly complemented by the smaller photo and the journaling touches. It’s just so much fun to look at this page!   Remember It All by Natascha Next, I want to point to this page, which is another one that I just can’t take my eyes off because there’s so much to discover. With all the papers stacked on top of each other, it has a great composition as well, the colors make it all fun and bright, and all the little and big elements are …

December Daily – Week 5 Recap

I did it! As of today, I’ve completed my 2011 December Daily project, and I’m all excited about it. Have all but the last week printed and cut already, and tomorrow I’ll assemble it into an actual album! But before I’m running away with myself, let me show you what I’ve done this past week (images are linked to gallery for product information): And now I’m very relieved that I can move on to some other scrapping projects again. But I’ll post my finished album, once I can get good pictures of it. PS. For more inspiration, see Week 4, Week 3, Week 2, and Week 1.

Freebie Friday: Review

Boy, it’s late! And I should be in bed. But I managed to get you a brand new template again. With the year coming to a closure, I thought it would be good to get you a template that would help you scrap your year in review. But it’s also versatile enough that you can use it for any other ordinary page. And if you don’t have 12 photos you want to scrap, just use paper instead. So, here comes based on my page “Year in Review:”   I hope you’ll find some use for this template somehow. And I’m gonna leave you as always wishing you happy scrapping! Note: Please do not re-distribute this template in any way (you may share the link to this post), and when you use this template, please make sure to credit it to Misty Hilltops Designs.

Enable Me: Christmas Words

If you’re still working on some Christmas layouts, then this post might be for you. This Christmas season, I went collecting. In my notebook, I kept a growing list of Christmas themed words that would do great for titles, word art and word strips. And I thought I’d share that list with you, before the season is entirely over. So here goes … – adorn – advent – all is calm – angel – bells – bright – candle light – caroling – decoration – fa la la – family – festive – holiday – holly – jolly – joy – naughty or nice – merry – mistletoe – nativity – noel – peace – season – sparkle – star – tradition – twinkle – wish And if you know some more words that would do great on a layout, just post a comment and we can keep this list growing …

Enable Me: 2012 Calendars

The year of 2011 is almost at an end. It’s the last chance to get the new calendars for 2012 ready in time. I’m rather excited that I finally get to show you the calendar I made back in October, using Cindy Schneider’s and Dani Mogstad’s calendar templates. They come in various sizes, and are perfect to jump start any calendar project, and if you haven’t decided what to do for a 2012 calendar yet, they’re the perfect solution. I actually ordered a bunch of calendars to give to family and friends (thus all pictures of myself, and thus I couldn’t post earlier, because I didn’t want to give away the surprise), and I hope I get to print my own version (with different photos) before the end of the week. If you are looking for calendar inspiration – most template designers release their own version of calendars, and there’s tons of inspiration in the galleries, too!

Behind the Scenes: Create Your Own Layered Christmas Tree

Christmas 2011 officially now is a thing of the past. But for us scrappers the good news is that our holiday scrapping is just beginning, since I’m sure that most of us have a lot of memories that we want to preserve with your layouts. It’s the perfect timing, therefore, to bring you this little tutorial on how to create your own paper clipping Christmas tree. Check out my DD cover page, and the tree you see there is what you’ll learn to do in today’s tutorial:   In this tutorial you will learn how to …   … create your own clipping masks using a custom shape; … rasterize the custom shape; … divide the custom shape into various fields/shapes by using the Eraser Tool.   Here’s how it works … I’m assuming that you’ve already opened your canvas, and are ready to start …   STEP 1 |  Create a Triangular Shape The first thing we need to do is create a triangular shape. Simply press U to bring up the Custom Shape …

Journaling Café: Christmas Gifts

In Germany, today is still a full fledged Christmas holiday, officially called 2. Christmas Day (yesterday was the 1. Christmas day). This means, celebrations, indulging in great meals, and gift giving are still in full swing. Today’s journaling inspiration, therefore, is all about the gift giving: Let’s hope that with the holiday aftermath (or maybe continued celebrations) you’ll still find the time to journal some of your thoughts and experiences regarding this year’s Christmas gifts. Here’s a page of mine about gifts: The font used here is my own handwriting font DJB Squirrels In My Pants by Darcy Baldwin (available at the Sweetshoppe).

Treasure Sunday: December 25th

I hope your Christmas celebrations are going well. To add some little eye-candy to all the sweet treats you’re getting these days, I went and raided the galleries, and here’s what I found this week …   Winter by Bdigis Starting off with this fun and wintery page! I love the fun and fresh feel to it. The clustering is gorgeous, and the color palette so pretty. Great photos, too!   Snowy Love by chocochoco Another page with the same kit (I saw lots of pretty pages with it today) – great clustering, fun composition, and I love the gold letters stuck in between the other elements.   Wish List by caramellche Staying with the Christmas theme – here’s another page that caught my eye. I love the vintage/doodley feel about this page, and all the fun elements she managed to scrap in the cluster.   Please Check Twice by estir_bune I don’t care much about Santa Clause, but this page actually caught my eye. Most of all, I like the paint and doodle bits …

December Daily – Week 4 Recap

Merry Christmas, everyone! My December Daily album is coming together just nicely this year, so it’s time for another recap of what happened this past week (all images are linked to gallery for product info) … For most of you, it’s time to celebrate now, so I won’t keep you much longer. Have fun making memories! PS. For more inspiration, see Week 3, Week 2, and Week 1.

Inspire Me: Christmas

If you’ve been following my DigiScrap Corner even just a little, surely by now you’ve figured that I really love Christmas. And since it’s the season, and Christmas is almost here, I thought, I’d throw out some more inspiration for you. Here are some Christmas pages I created earlier this year (from last Christmas) for a photobook project I did.   And here are some older pages from last Christmas …
