Enable Me: Ideas for Titles

You may remember that a couple of weeks ago, I posted a tutorial on how to make your titles stand out. Back then I promised to hook you up with some great resources to inspire you and help you find the right title. So, today’s the day. Many of us experience this at some point: you finished your page, it looks great, but you just don’t know what title to use. You don’t want to refer to the much over-used “something-something- Memories,” yet again, or any of the other oh-so-typical phrases that you see all over the galleries. But your brain is having a blockage. You just can’t think of any fun or interesting title, you’re stuck! But there’s a way out of your dilemma. There are lots of scrapbooking websites (traditional and digital) out there that offer lists of suggestions for titles. Many are sorted by occasion/topic/event etc. which makes finding a title four your page really easy. Just find the topic that matches the theme of your layout and check out their inspiration. …

Fixed it! And a Freebie

Good news! It seems like the bug got fixed, finally! I’m starting to know my way around my website again – yay for that! And a BIG thanks to my sister’s fiance who was the man of the hour! So, hopefully I’m going to be able to get back to the routine right away (am hoping to get some extra posting done this weekend, and if time allows, I’ll even have a new freebie for you, so keep watching for something new these coming days). To make your wait a little sweeter, I’ve got a little something from Cindy Schneider that I’d like to share. She’s offering one of her gorgeous templates as a freebie on facebook!

So sorry!

Can you tell that we were having trouble making the switch? I’m so sorry that mistyhilltops.com has been such a mess these last few days. Thanks to my sister and her fiance who spent countless hours trying to figure out what was wrong, we finally narrowed the possibilities down to one problem. It’s not completely solved, yet, but at least we know what has caused this mess, and we were able to get things back in place somewhat. We are trying hard to get mistyhilltops.com fully restored, and hopefully before long we’ll get back into our usual posting routine again. My apologies, and thanks for your patience!

Behind the Scenes: Unfocused Photos

Who of us hasn’t experienced this: you take a photo, and at the time of shooting expect it to be a great shot. But as soon as you upload it onto your computer, you are in for major disappointment as you realize the imagine is “useless” – it’s out of focus. If you haven’t, I’ve had my fair share of moments like these in the past. Maybe it wasn’t even me who took the picture, but someone else who didn’t know how to handle my camera well. Whatever reason it was, many times when we realize a photo is ruined, it’s too late to go back and re-take the picture. But there is good news for all of us who do have those kinds of pictures sitting in our folders. We still can redeem them. Even though one major rule of photography is to make sure to take sharp, focused photos (the clearer the details the better), there is another rule that says, you can break any of those major rules and still have great …

Freebie Friday: Birthday

Yes! We finally got things fixed! At least as far as getting you the links for last Friday’s freebie template. I just tried it, and you should be able to download it now! So sorry, for putting you off for so long! Just go to last Friday’s post, and click on the image, it should work as it usually does now. Maintenance One thing to keep in mind though: we are still doing some website maintenance in the background (switching servers, which hasn’t been succesful, yet). So, if things seem unusual or within the next couple of days something doesn’t work – we are keeping an eye on it, and hopefully things will get sorted out, real soon. For now, I’m planning to continue my posting as usual! So, thanks for all of you who are taking the time to stop by!

Monday Highlight: Owl Tree Studios

For those of you who have never heard of Owl Tree Studios before, I’d like to take a brief moment of introduction today. OTS started out purely as a digital scrapbooking club – you subscribe to them, pay a monthly fee and get a whole set of digital scrapbook products (similar to The Daily Digi). Recently, however, they’ve opened their store to just anyone who is interested in getting their products without subscribing to the club membership. They also added a couple more designers, and in the last week they opened their new gallery. It’s an open gallery that allows you to post any digital scrapbook layouts (provided you don’t link any products in the credits, except OTS products). Some of my most recent layouts using their products are:

Treasure Sunday: You Are My Sunshine

I am fascinated! Found this gem in the galleries, and it definitely deserves some spotlighting here: “[sunshine]” by janyellemayara I am fascinated, especially because she dares to work with such bold, big patterns, letters, and elements, and still keeps a perfect balance between layout and photos. Her photo editing works beautifully with the color palette of this page, and aren’t those pictures adorable?

Maintenance

mistyhilltops.com is currently going through some maintenance issues. Therefore, I won’t be posting much, until the process is completed. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause anyone of my readers, and hope to be back in business soon. Thanks for your patience, and keep checking back to make sure you don’t miss anything once all issues are solved.

CT Spotlight (03/05)

I got a ton of new products to show off again for you: Libby designed a fun new kit: Charles Edward Limburger. Cindy keeps whirling around with ever new ideas for gorgeous layouts (she has four new template packs out this weekend). Darcy wants to introduce “Lucy-Lu,” and was really “Inspired by Giseli” (templates). Stephanie has a new grab bag out in her store (or you can get each item individually, if you want). Here are a couple of pages with some of the products mentioned above:

Freebie Friday: Birthday

Alright, friends, we are in the process of switching servers for my website, which is why it’s been taking so long for me to get the link fixed. But it’s working now. Just keep in mind that the move hasn’t been completed, yet. So, if things don’t work well, I hope you’ll be a little patient with me. Hopefully everything will go smoothly, and there won’t be any glitch in the system. So, after trying so hard to get you the template on time (squeezing it into a busy day between getting my CT pages done, various appointments, figuring out what had happened to my Photoshop when it just wouldn’t let me create the layers for this template as I usually do, and not being able to upload the file to my webspace, because of the move), here it finally is: As always: I love to see what you do with these templates, so please hook me up to your gallery uploads (you can do that by leaving a comment here). By the way, you …
