P2D: United

Paper 2 digi can actually be an exciting adventure. Usually, I love the way those pages turn out for which I found inspiration in the traditional paper scrapping world. Like the page I want to share with you today.

Take a look at this gorgeous traditional paper layout by Maska, which I found on the website ColorConspiracy.

I totally love the spritzy artistic feel to it, and decided it’s definitely something I’d like to use as a spring board for one of my pages. So, I took the idea of lots of paint, splatters, brushes, a bit of word art, and a couple of scattered elements, and came up with this page:

While my page is definitely still quite different from the original (I can’t help myself and need to cluster more elements somehow), you may still be able to find some similarities. And at any rate … the website colorconspiracy is definitely a place worthwhile when you look for inspiration for one of your own pages!

Surviving the Physicals

130426-Photo-AprWe did it! We made it through our annual hospital and we survived without any major disasters. Of course, we’re still amused at how haphazardly some of the examinations are done (take for example the eye test: all you’re asked to do is tell the doctor which number you are able to make out from a bunch of colored dots, despite the fact that you can hear the person before you say the number already), and of course I get nervous when the person right in front of me gets poked all over her arms for the blood test and I keep hoping they may do mine with a little more confidence. But then, we really did survive yet another dreaded physical exam, and having gotten smart from years of experience, we actually were done in no time. Yay, for another year of health!

Freebie Friday: Breath of Fresh Air – Part 4

It’s time to share the fourth part of my free kit “Breath of Fresh Air.” Today, you get the first part of the elements. These include lots of fun assets such as frames, stars, flowers, tags, ribbons, stitches, a banner, photo pockets and lots more.

Don’t forget to spread the word, and as always, my terms of use apply. Now, I’m off to wish you the best of Fridays, and happy scrapping.

Hybrid Hub: Poppy Field

PB-Summer-2012-IMG_7962I’m happy to present you my next hybrid page spread. This one was created by printing and assembling papers and elements from an older kit by Melissa Bennett called “Love Actually.” The products from Melissa’s kits are perfect for printing and look great on any hybrid product. Of course, I threw in a layered card made with one of Cindy Schneider’s templates, and I used the journaling spots Melissa included to throw in my own little word art element.

Inspire Me: You, Me & Crazy

Are you one of those people who keeps scouring the www, always in search for inspiration and new ideas to implement on your scrapbook pages? Well, I have a site that might inspire one of your future pages: You, Me & Crazy.

Admitted, this site is maintained by a traditional paper scrapper, but still, Corrie’s layouts are intriguing and full of new, unique ideas.

If you haven’t checked out the site, I recommend that you hop on over. Who knows … you might find a treasure, or two …

Daily Visits

I’m learning something these days. Learning to stay calm at the sight of my daily visitors.

Of course, it’s one thing if those visitors were announced and would show up at my door. It’s another thing altogether when those visitors show up at any given time at my bedroom window. But, as I said, I’m learning to not freak out any time a strange face shows up right by my window with curious looks on their faces, and I learn to pretend that nothing curious is ever happening here.

Yes, yes, the woes of living in a construction zone …

Your Presence is Requested …

Spring is always an exciting season. The reason? Because it’s the time for butterflies, and love, and …

… well, wedding invitations.

Every year, someone among my dear colleagues decides to get married here, and the other day, I received an invitation to another wedding yet again.

Time to get out those pretty dresses again, and time to give you a heads-up that soon you’ll be able to learn more about yet another wedding around here.

Journaling Café: Favorites

Favorites. We all have them, in basically every area of life. But when do we actually take the time to journal about the little, mundane favorites that make our lives so pleasant?

So, today you get a set of prompts to think and journal about, and they all regard your favorite things …

And of course, I was eager to work on a page documenting some of my favorites:

Rain Proof

130420-Photo

It’s raining. How I know? Well, the tell-tale sign is when you look out of the window, of course. I, however, have another way of telling that it’s raining. All I need to do is …

… go down to the lobby. And then I know.

I know by the number of buckets set up everywhere. And by the numbers of additional puddles collecting slowly on the floor of our, yes, brand-new lobby! Puddles that could also do with their own buckets. But I’m learning these days that “brand-new” doesn’t always mean rainproof. And I’m learning that rainproof doesn’t always mean what you think it may mean. “Rainproof” in our lobby means that our lobby will always do a good job proving to us that – in fact – it’s raining outside!

P2D: Busy Me

I have more to share with you in my paper-2-digi spot this week.

Take a look at this traditionally scrapped page:

I totally loved the list Corrie created, placed next to the portrait photo, and the title cut from the background paper.

So, I set out to implement these aspects on a page of my own, also trying to imitate the somewhat artsy feel of the page (with all the paint splats and what not). And here’s where that inspiration got me on a page of my own …

Of course, I couldn’t do without adding a few extra clusters of ellies, because I love ellie clusters!
