P2D: Autumn In The Air

Lifting traditional paper layouts and turning them into digital versions can be so much fun! Take this super fun traditionally scrapped layout for example:

Doesn’t the overall composition totally rock? I love the various layers of papers, the play with patterns, the two photos, the tag, and how the journaling was done, and so I tried to imitate some of these features. And look how my own page turned out:

So, if you haven’t tried the P2D thing yet, why not find yourself a pretty paper page and get scrapping?

Freebie Friday: Harvest of Happiness – Part 2

I’m so excited because I’m actually catching up on my blog. (Not quite there yet, but close, which means that hopefully soon I can launch all the features of the digiscrap corner again.) For now, however, you’ll get the second part of my newest autumn kit:

I hope you’ll show me what you’re doing with this (once you’ve collected all the pieces). Also, remember to check my Terms of Use (personal use only).

And now, I thought I’d let you know that I’m debating which theme to do next for a kit. I found this gorgeous fall related color scheme that I’m totally digging and thinking of doing a Thanksgiving kit:

I’m thinking pretty stripes, plaids, and lots of damask patterns, and think it would make a gorgeous kit.

But then, Christmas isn’t far off either, and I’m thinking, wouldn’t it be great for you to actually be able to play with the entire kit when it’s still the season for it? So, now I’m in this big dilemma (I have about 2-3 weeks to finish my next kit), and don’t know what to do. Maybe I could get some feedback from you, ladies, since you’re the ones who’ll actually benefit from this by playing with the result. So any recommendations from your side would be greatly appreciated.

Alright, this is it from me, happy scrapping friends, and have a great weekend!

Hybrid Hub: Card #68

I have a few more cards to share before I’ll move on to some other interesting diy projects (mini albums, crafts, etc.). So, today I’ll give you a card in blue that I made.

This one has two patterned papers that I complemented with a ribbon and a sentiment, which I printed and cut with the silhouette.

Traffic Phenomenon: Parked In With My Bike

131002-Photo
I did something crazy the other day (October Holiday). I did. Despite the fact that all those in their right mind will do everything to avoid going into town or out of town, I took my bicycle and went into town. And I learned something. I learned that even bicycles can get parked in in our town – parked in, meaning blocked by the ton of other vehicles that are parked all around me so that there’s almost no way of getting out.
You see, I always knew that it’s possible for cars to get blocked by other cars while parking. But now I know that around here, people are just as capable of blocking a bicycle so that it’s almost impossible to get out.

October Holiday

The beginning of October always is a favorite time for me. 1. We celebrate the national day of this country. 2. Two days later, we celebrate my own country’s national day. Much celebrating, for sure, and what matters most is the fact that our entire school is on holiday … no work! But it also means that many other people don’t work, which then means super crowded streets, and almost nothing goes in the stores because of all the crowds of people.

Journaling Café: To-Do List

We all have something to do. Some of us more, some of us less. Some of us don’t even like to think about all the things they have to do and would rather avoid talking about this topic. Today, however, I’d like you to take a moment and think about your habits when it comes to the things you need to do …

I’m someone who doesn’t have a list per se, but I certainly have lots of things I can work on. So, naturally, I have a story to tell and here’s the layout that goes with it …

Font used in the journaling prompt is DJB Squirrels in My Pants by Darcy Baldwin (available at sweetshoppedesigns.com).

P2D: Harvest

I love autumn, though I can’t say it’s my favorite season of the year because I like all seasons. But for today’s paper to digi post, I decided to scrap another autumn themed page.

First, of course, I need to show you the page that inspired my own layout:

I loved the paint splats, the layers of papers, that little cluster in the top left corner of the page, and tried to incorporate some of these things on my own page. Here’s how that turned out:

How to Clean a Bike

130927-Photo

If you happen to have a bicycle, you’ll know that every once in a while it’ll need cleaning. I’ve had my bike for several years now, and not once did I really clean it (aside from washing off dust when I couldn’t see the color of the bike anymore). So, the plan is to hopefully clean my bike very soon. The problem, however, is that I don’t even know where to find stuff you can use for cleaning bicycles. Back home, I could go to pretty much any bike store or even some department stores/supermarkets and I’d be able to quickly find exactly what I’m looking for. Here, however, things are a little more complicated. Because I don’t even know where to begin looking for something like that. My first guess, of course, was the bike store where I got my bike. But a quick stop brought no success. But then, in one of the supermarkets I got my creative juices flowing. I found something you use to clean cars. That’s not too far off, I thought, and now am the proud owner of a can of cleaning stuff that I don’t even know yet, whether it’ll work.
