Neuschwanstein Castle – Or: A Special Adventure

How about a little story for those among my readers who love adventures? It goes like this: Once upon a time there were two sisters. One day they said to each other, “Let’s go to Neuschanstein (Germany’s most famous tourist destination).” It was a cold winter day and a few days earlier it had snowed. When they arrived at their destination, they noticed that due to the snow many things were different than usual – some roads had been blocked. But when they saw how many other visitors set out on an arduous and quite dangerous quest of seeing the castle in its greatest splendor, they took courage. Bravely, they climbed over the barricades and soon found themselves on a road, which had a snow cover that had been trampled by many feet and which had turned into one long stretch of slippery ice. But such dangers could not deter the sisters. They clawed their way along the mountains slopes up the winding road and …

Gardens and Winter Afternoons

Von Gärten und Winternachmittagen My sister and I wanted to go on a little photo shoot. For that, however, we wanted a nice little backdrop. While there are many beautiful places within an hour or two hour driving range, we didn’t have enough time to go somewhere far before the sun went down. When looking into things to see, if there was some nice place closer by, we discovered that mere minutes from our home, there’s a castle with a garden that’s considered unique and a great sight in the region. So, we set out to find the famed garden, and lo and behold, our expectations were exceeded and we spent a nice hour in the sunset of a late winter afternoon.

David Against Goliath

David gegen Goliath I’m well aware that the way the story goes, you’re supposed to favor David and really opt against Goliath. I’ve understood this and the message is clear to me. In my present case, however, I hope you’ll show a little leniency with me that for once I would favor Goliath over David. After all, he promises a lot more sweet delights than David. At least when it comes to my two chocolate Santa Clauses that I haven’t yet had the time to devour as there have been so many other good, delicious things to enjoy over Christmas.

Hybrid Hub: Milk Cartons in a Carrier

Bastelecke: Milchkartons im Träger   Happy new year to all of you. Before moving on to new topics and projects, I’d like to share my last Christmas project of the season. A couple of weeks ago, I made this little carrier with milk cartons. I made the cut file in my Silhouette Studio, printed some of the papers from my Holly & Pine kit, then had my Silhouette Cameo cut out the entire shabeng. Here’s how that turned out: Frohes neues Jahr euch allen.
