I’d like to introduce you to another kit that I like this week, and that is … Fancy Pants by Traci Reed It’s almost hard to determine what exactly I like about this kit. Is it the color palette of green, brown, yellow, and white that comes in a beautiful combination? Is it the various elements she included with the kit, ranging from flowers and foliage to ribbons, buttons, and tons of other embellishments? Is it the doodled look she added to some of those elements, or the pieces of handwritten word art? I can’t really tell, but I know I’ve used this kit for some wonderful pages already. Here’s just one sample layout that I created recently, using this kit:
School is starting back again, so this morning I took my camera out to record the crowds of students flocking into the teaching buildings. Back to school also means that from now on every morning, and whenever classes are over, our campus is getting crowded with students on their way to class, to their dorms, to another class, or just being out and about. And since the number of students increases every year, our campus gets busier and busier with each fall semester that passes. I’ll be in class myself later on today, therefore to everyone who is going back to school these days: My best wishes for the fall semester 2011!
Today marks the official beginning of the Fall Semester 2011. Students have returned from their summer break, and for everyone (except the Freshman students) classes begin this morning.
Oh, I’m in love with this gem that I found in the gallery: “Missing Family Portrait” by gateausoso I love the soft feel of it, the paint splatters and brush work, that butterfly and the stamps. The composition is awesome, the topic something I can quite relate to, and don’t you agree that photoless pages do have something special about them?

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you probably have an idea that I like photography. And I like to experiment a little, too. So, this month, for a photography challenge I was hoping to do, the task was to take a picture with a lens flare (which simply means you take a picture against the bright shining sun). But it’s summer here in China, and where I’m at it means the sun will hardly ever come out, even though the temperatures might be sizzling. So, every day, I’ve been waiting for the sun to show (and I admit, there were a couple of “sunny” days that I missed), so that I could take a lens flare photo. But lo and behold, today, there was actually the hint of the sun visible against the white sky. So I took out my camera and went out to chase the sun. Wasn’t too successful though. The picture shows: this was as much lens flare as I could get (in the middle of the afternoon). Not …
Well, today’s sample may not have an actual mistake, but I always love the concern for the people’s well-being you can find on signs around here. This sign was posted in Hong Kong for the users of the escalators. Note: When posting anything in the Fun with Chinglish section, I don’t mean to show disrespect towards anything or anyone in any way. I’m simply sharing the fun we get to have with all those great signs & documents!
Whaa, this is a late Friday freebie, but I kind of still wanted to share a new template with you this week, so here it is: Have fun with this one, and as always: Happy Friday! Note: Please do not re-distribute this template in any way (you may share the link to this post), and when you use this template, please make sure to credit it to Misty Hilltops Designs.
