Traveler’s Notebook Layout: Winter Eve

Anzeige (Enthält Produktempfehlung) / Advertisement (Contains product recommendation) EnglishHey you guys! I have another layout to share with you, and this one was a lot of fun to create. I wanted to create a layout that goes across the two pages of the TN spread. But as with the previous layouts, the paper pack “Winter Forest” that I’m using isn’t large enough. I solved the problem, by arranging the photos to the left of the page, and pretending the paper continues behind the photos. Which it doesn’t. It ends just where it’s tucked underneath the large square. But before I glued the papers and photos down, I prepped the page by painting it with water color – about where I knew the paper strip would end. After the watercolor dried, I put down the paper strip, which has a beautiful motif of a wintery forest scenery. I also stamped and colored, and fussy cut this little winter cabin on card stock, that I then placed on the strip of paper, so that it would be …

Traveler’s Notebook Layout: Fun

Anzeige (Enthält Produktempfehlung) / Advertisement (Contains product recommendation) EnglishToday I want to share the layout “Fun” with you. I’m still working with the paper pack “Winter Forest,” and I really wanted to create a design that spans the entire page, top to bottom. Because the paper is only 6×6 inches, but the page is 8 1/4 inches tall, it’s usually not possible. I dealt with this problem by creating a photo mat for the two photos, and the strip of patterned paper behind it is cut in two pieces and arranged at the top and the bottom. With my die cuts I added a bit of foliage behind the photo. The snowman I stamped on white card stock and then fussy cut it out. But the background is stamped directly on the page. The word strips were quickly added. For the title, I watercolored some white card stock, then cut the letters with one of my die cut alphas and tucked it next to the snowman. SketchA sketch/template of this page will soon come as …

Traveler’s Notebook Layout: Warm Wishes

Anzeige (Enthält Produktempfehlung) / Advertisement (Contains product recommendation) EnglishThis page I began by drawing circles with water color on the page. To get the circles perfectly round, I used something suitable from my household, though I wasn’t going for a perfect look in terms of how I painted the circles. If they turned out a bit messy, that’s exactly what I wanted. Next, I used bubble wrap that I colored with the same shade of watercolor and then dabbed on the areas of the page where I wanted the photos to go. I added some paint splatters and a stamped the little starry motives. With my die cuts I then cut out the banner shapes from the patterned paper (“Winter Forest”) – two for each cluster. I also needed a couple of snowflakes and the label for the title. For that label I used up some of the paper on which I had previously watercolored. Last, I added the photos and finishing touches by arranging the word strips, snowflakes and other elements around the page. …
