Bastelecke: Ein Tag in Paris – Minialbum I’m excited to share with you another mini album that I made recently. This one was a lot of fun to make because it looks rather complicated, but it’s actually really easy to make.   Endlich ist es Zeit, dass ich euch ein weiteres Minialbum zeigen kann, dass ich erst kürzlich erstellt habe. Dieses zu basteln hat mir richtig Spass gemacht, weil es ziemlich kompliziert aussieht aber eigentlich ganz einfach zu erstellen ist.     I used the paper from a day planner. The title “One Day In” I printed onto brown paper and added the word “Paris” with a cut-out from my Silhouette Cameo. Embellished things a bit and it was done.   Das Papier habe ich von einem Timer verwendet. Den Titel “One Day in” auf braunes Papier gedruckt und dann den Schriftzug “Paris” mit meiner Silhouette Cameo ausgeschnitten. Bastelecke: Karte #72 – Hochzeitskarte It’s been a while, but I recently had a reason to make another card again. For this one I used a die cutting design by Bird, cut everything on craft paper and white card stock and assembled it (with pop dots to give it more dimension). Es ist schon eine Weile her, aber kürzlich hatte ich mal wieder einen Grund, eine weitere Karte zu basteln. Für diese Karte habe ich eine Vorlage von Bird benutzt, alles auf braunem und weissem Papier ausgeschnitten und dann zusammengefügt (mit 3d Klebepads, um allem ein bisschen Dimension zu geben).

Bastelecke: Minibuch Winter Faves I’ve been having so much fun making mini albums this year, using my Silhouette, so I’m ready to share my next project. It’s about my favorite moments this past winter. Take a look. Ich hab dieses Jahr viel Spass dabei, Minialben zu basteln (mit meiner Cameo, versteht sich). Bastelecke: Minialbum “10 Dinge, die mich glücklich machen” I’ve been a happy Cameo owner who has been happily creating away with her cameo over the last couple of months, so it’s time for me to show you some of the projects that I’ve done lately. I’m going to start with this very simple mini book about 10 things that make me happy: Ich bin ganz glücklich mit meiner Cameo, und so habe ich in den letzten Monaten fröhlich vor mich hin gebastelt. Da wird es doch jetzt mal Zeit, dass ich anfange, euch meine Projekte zu zeigen. Heute fange ich mal mit diesem einfachen Minialbum an, und 10 Dingen, die mich glücklich machen:         I created this book using plain blue card stock, and Zoe Pearn’s digital kit “Family Ties.” I also used a couple of shapes from the Silhouette store, plus a tag album template by Lori Whitlock (also Silhouette). Hybrid Hub: Christmas Subway (Word) Art

Bastelecke: Weihnachts Subway Kunst I finally managed to complete my next subway word art piece. Since the season of fall is pretty much over, I knew I wanted my next one to be a Christmas themed one. So I created a file in my Silhouette software. This time I wanted to go for a little more elegance, so I decided to cut all the words from white paper and arrange them on a brown background. Here’s how that turned out:   Ich habs endlich geschafft, mein neuestes Subway Projekt fertigzustellen. Da der Herbst mehr oder weniger vorbei ist, wusste ich, dass mein nächstes Projekt zu Weihnachten passen sollte. Also habe ich eine Datei in meiner Silhouette software erstellt. Dieses Mal sollte es ein bisschen eleganter aussehen, also habe ich alle Worte von weißem Papier ausgeschnitten und sie dann auf braunem Hintergrund arrangiert. Happy Thanksgiving! While the Americans among my readers probably are busy celebrating today, I’m sure some of my European readers are actually busy preparing for the Christmas season. Getting the best of both worlds myself, I get to celebrate Thanksgiving with all my American friends today, but I’ve also been busy this week getting my home ready for Christmas as in Germany this Sunday we’ll start officially by celebrating the first Sunday of Advent. Während die Amerikaner unter meinen Lesern heute wahrscheinlich damit beschäftigt sind, Thanksgiving zu feiern, haben einige meiner europäischen Leser dieser Tage sicherlich damit zu tun, sich auf die Weihnachtszeit vorzubereiten. Ich kann heute Thanksgiving mit meinen amerikanischen Freunden und Kollegen feiern, aber ich war diese Woche auch schon damit beschäftigt, meine Wohnung für die Weihnachtszeit klar zu machen. Bastelecke: Herbstlaternen I’ve been crafting again, and since fall is the season of the year where things turn rather dark (days get shorter, skies grayer), I wanted to craft something that would light up my days a bit. So, I went and searched the Silhouette Online store to see what they had for luminaries or lanterns, couldn’t find anything that really pleased me, and decided to create my own. I got three designs at the store (two leafy backgrounds, and one piece of bunting), edited all pieces in the Silhouette Studio to turn them into four square pieces, which I connected, cut out, glued together and then be used with candles (I use real candles, but have them in little candle glasses for extra protection).   Ich bin mal wieder kreativ geworden, und weil der Herbst die Jahreszeit ist, in der es eher düster aussieht (die Tage werden kürzer, der Himmel grauer), wollte ich etwas basteln, dass mir die Tage ein wenig heller machen kann.
