Happy new year to all my digiscrap friends! Thanks to all those of you who have been sticking around with me for a while, and welcome to anyone who just recently found out about mistyhilltops.com. While this year is going to be extremely busy with my studies etc. (especially probably toward the latter half of it anyway), I do have a couple of fun posts lined up already aside from planning a new winter freebie kit and sharing lots of inspiration. And of course, I can’t wait for my new blog to be up and running (only waiting for that busy sister of mine to help me with a couple of little tweaks). Sooo … I hope you’ll be checking in every once in a while, and to all of you I wish that 2013 will be a successful year to be looked back to with pleasure.

I know it seems like forever since I’ve been able to come around my little scrapbook corner. But life has just been crazy busy over the last couple of months, and it seems to stay busy even as things are finally settling down. That, however, doesn’t mean I don’t have lots of ideas and inspiration in store for you again (though fighting bad internet connections, you’ll have to bear with me), but I’d like to jump into getting my digiscrap corner active again by starting off with some exciting news: Digital Scrapbook Day is upon us! For most places in digiland that means lots of sales, offers, goodies, contests, and giveaways, and for the Sweetshoppers among us, the excitement has started already! Just a couple of minutes ago, the new releases were posted along with super sweet sales, and for the next couple of days, you can shop, chatter away in the forums, and – of course – scrap your heart out! Well, I’ve wished you a happy new year already, so now it’s time to share some good news with you as well! The Sweetshoppe is open again, and that means we are in for some yummy treats. Not only do they present themselves with an all new look, and new features, tutorials, etc., but for those freebie lovers among you, I have some especially good news: SSD changed their policy (no freebies in the past), so now they offer free samples of their designs on their website. Can you tell that I’ve been busy with real life lately? I hardly have time to catch up with all my blogging. So, I decided to give myself another break again this week. But that doesn’t mean you have to be disappointed. Let me remind you that over at SSD you can pick a new free template every day throughout the month of December. So that should give you plenty of templates to work with! And if that isn’t good news enough already, I’ve got something to top it! SSD also has a retirement sale going on till Dec. 24th. It’s the weekend many of us have been waiting for so long: International Scrapbook Day. Have you checked out all the stores yet? There are sales going on everywhere! I just realized that I forgot to tell you about a special sale that has been going on at the Sweetshoppe. As all of you surely know already, more than a month ago, a tremendous earthquake and tsunami devastated Japan. In order to support the relief efforts that are underway, the sweetshoppe designers got together to create a beautiful Asian themed kit that will be available through April. 100% of the profits will be donated to the American Red Cross.
