P2D: Hopeful

It’s paper to digi hour again, and today I’d like to share with you this layout … … which I turned into this digital page … I really liked the bit of messiness, the painted splatters and scattered elements on the original layout, and thought to incorporate it on my own page, while still trying to keep in line with my own style.

P2D: Winter Wish

One website that comes with awesome inspiration for traditional scrapbook layouts is scrapbookgeneration.com. It’s kind of more like a club thing, but if you check out their site, you’ll find lots of really great pages that allow for your papers and photos to shine! Just check out this post, for example. They usually show off double pages, but who says you can’t turn double pages into single pages? Take a look at this winter themed page for example: I simply took the general composition of this page, turned it into a single page layout, added a couple more embellishing clusters, and this is what came out: I used my new winter kit “A Cup Full of Winter” for this (the first part is available for you for download as a freebie since yesterday), plus a couple of Cindy Schneiders layered labels she just released this weekend. I simply replaced two of the photo spots with the labels, and if you look hard enough you can see how my layout still resembles parts of the original …

P2D: This Is Everyday

Let’s get back to paper to digi business. I went on a search for another nice traditional scrapbook page to scraplift, and found myself this:     And because I liked this page, I took it as the basis for a page of my own, and out came this … This Is Everyday Now, see, the beauty of scraplifting is that you don’t have to everything exactly according to the original layout. You have that which is called “creative freedom!” For me, that creative freedom usually looks like this: I find myself a pretty page I like, and I use it as a springboard for inspiration. Usually, however, the end result turns out really different, because either add extra things to my page, or take away what was on the original. The end result is a page that reflects your own personality and scrapping style. Despite it being “merely” a scraplift. Now it’s your turn! Why don’t you go and find yourself a pretty page from one of the traditional scrapbooking galleries and start working …

P2D Inspiration: Things I Love

Uff, with Christmas season and the December Daily, it’s been a while for me since I last posted some p2d inspiration. But for today’s post, I found a nifty little website with tons of inspiration; and sketches, too. So, while my page today isn’t really based off a finished layout, it’s still coming from the traditional side of scrapbooking. Here’s the sketch from Scrap Friends:     And here’s the page I whipped up based on it. I used a valentine themed kit to scrap about things I love to do.

P2D Inspiration: Sweet November

A while back I came across this layout, and I thought about how much fun it would be to scraplift it. I loved the arrangement and layering of the different papers, and that pocket in which Kelly (the scrapper who created this page) had inserted the tag. So, I sat down to work on a page, and it was that page that got me into creating the Thanksgiving kit “A Grateful Heart,” which I’ve been sharing with you lately.

P2D Inspiration: Let the Season Begin

Admitted, it’s still a little early for Christmas, but since I love the season, and since my recent shopping experience exposed me to some pretty neat Christmas stuff around here, and since I really wanted to use one of my recent purchases, I decided to do a Christmas page. And I found myself a fun paper layout to scraplift and turn into a digital version. Here’s Kelly Goree’s sample page, which I totally loved as soon as I saw it: And here’s my take on it:

P2D Inspiration:

I have a new paper page I’d like to share with you. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it, and of course, I had to try my hand on it, turning it into a digital layout! On this page, I loved all the little details – the pieces of journaling scattered all over, and her fun way to use scraps for some confetti and scatters. So, after drooling over this page for quite a while, I came up with this:

P2D Inspiration: Finally Together Again

I got inspired again by a traditional scrapbook page. Take a look at this layout by Wendy Sue: Isn’t it gorgeous? I loved the color scheme and all the little details she added to her page, and so, as soon as I saw it in the Two Peas gallery, I knew I had to scrap lift this one, and make a digital page out of it. So, here’s the page I created based on this LO:

P2D Inspiration: Love

I love traditionally scrapped pages. And the other day, for the Sweetshoppe portfolio, I got myself inspired by this page in the gallery over at Two Peas: Turning it into a digital layout, this is what I came up with: If you’ve never done any paper-2-digi scraplifting before, you should try it. There are so many great pages out there, worth lifting, all you need to do is look through some of the traditional paper scrapping galleries.

P2D: The Jump

I got another paper-2-digi sample for you. Recently, I found this page in the galleries, which I happened to find a fun page: So, I took the inspiration, and turned it into this digital layout: Are you getting inspired? The you should go and find yourself a page to play with.
