Enable Me: Words To Inspire Part 1: A-I

We scrappers are always looking for ideas and inspiration to spark our pages. One thing, a lot of us are struggling with is finding the right words for titles or topics, so I actually compiled a list of useful, inspirational words that would make great titles on any page. And today, I’m presenting the first part of this list: I hope these words will help you find a title for a page, sooner or later, and of course, stay tuned to get the second part as well!

Enable Me: Christmas Words

If you’re still working on some Christmas layouts, then this post might be for you. This Christmas season, I went collecting. In my notebook, I kept a growing list of Christmas themed words that would do great for titles, word art and word strips. And I thought I’d share that list with you, before the season is entirely over. So here goes … – adorn – advent – all is calm – angel – bells – bright – candle light – caroling – decoration – fa la la – family – festive – holiday – holly – jolly – joy – naughty or nice – merry – mistletoe – nativity – noel – peace – season – sparkle – star – tradition – twinkle – wish And if you know some more words that would do great on a layout, just post a comment and we can keep this list growing …

Enable Me: 2012 Calendars

The year of 2011 is almost at an end. It’s the last chance to get the new calendars for 2012 ready in time. I’m rather excited that I finally get to show you the calendar I made back in October, using Cindy Schneider’s and Dani Mogstad’s calendar templates. They come in various sizes, and are perfect to jump start any calendar project, and if you haven’t decided what to do for a 2012 calendar yet, they’re the perfect solution. I actually ordered a bunch of calendars to give to family and friends (thus all pictures of myself, and thus I couldn’t post earlier, because I didn’t want to give away the surprise), and I hope I get to print my own version (with different photos) before the end of the week. If you are looking for calendar inspiration – most template designers release their own version of calendars, and there’s tons of inspiration in the galleries, too!

Enable Me: Document Your December

Ok, so I know it’s kind of a little late for this – it already being almost Christmas and all; and I know that I usually try to hook you up with stuff that’s free in the Enable Me/Inspire Me section of my Digiscrap Corner, but being someone who absolutely loves the December Daily project this year, I just have to still show you: The other day, I stumbled upon the Pear Tree Album – a template pack by Sara Gleason. And boy, do I wish I had the extra $$ to purchase that set! This pack is huge, and besides the full range of page templates in various sizes (to make way more than just one DD album), it also comes with lots of extra goodies, such as transparency overlays, trims for clippings, etc. etc. I’m telling you, if you are looking for some DD inspiration, and you have the cash for templates (this set is rather cheap considering all the content, and comparing it to template packs in general), then you need to …

Enable Me: Creating A Custom Shaped Bokeh

I stumbled upon a super fun and easy tutorial recently about how to take pictures in which the lights take on fun shapes. As soon as I saw this, I knew I’d have to try my own hand at this, and true enough, it’s just as simple as it seems in the tutorial. So, if you want to know how to take pictures with a bokeh such as this one, simply hop on over to Kevin’s and Amanda’s blog to check out their tutorial.

Enable Me: Glitter Styles

What is Christmas without the magic … and the glitter? Of course, when scrapping, we want to capture the wonders of the moment, and with our pages we try to preserve as much of the magic as possible. Using glitter accents on scrapbook pages isn’t anything new. A lot of designers offer glitter backgrounds, glitter elements, glitter word art, and whatever else you can think of that glitters. Some of them even offer glitter styles for purchase. Today, however, I bring you some glitter styles for free. Actually, the web is full of free styles and actions that you can just download onto your computer (thanks to the generosity of their creator). All you need to do is search the internet a bit, and you’ll find tons of great stuff. But today, and since it’s Christmas season and all, I’ve made your search a little easier. Just click on the image above to get to the corresponding website from where you can easily download these glitter styles.

Tackling Your December Daily Project

December 1st is at hand, and for many of us this means embarking on a new journey with the December Daily project. I started a huge hybrid album last year which isn’t anywhere near finished (and I don’t see myself finishing it this year as I’m far too busy with real life at the moment), so for this season, I decided to take a simpler approach. I’m creating a digital album.   Simplicity Is Key The goal for most of us is to keep things simple, and yet to create albums that we’ll enjoy looking at even years from now. I already started my 2011 project last week, and I’m quite pleased with the outcome. But before I started, I sat down and thought through a couple of things that now prove to be very helpful as I’m further into the project, and I thought I’d share some of these considerations with you … TIP NO. 1 | Choosing the Right Format Choosing a format for your project is one key to avoid having …

Enable Me: Card Positioning Systems

The holidays are around the corner, and for many of us this means mailing out season’s greetings. What better reason do we need to get our crafty mojo going, and create our own Christmas cards? (Or any kind of card for that matter?) Today, therefore, I’d like to introduce you to a website that has become a great inspiration for my own card making in the last few months: Card Positioning Systems. The website runs like a blog, and on a frequent basis, sketches for greeting cards are released along with a full load of handcrafted cards that were created based on the sketches. What better inspiration do you need to kick your card-making up a notch? And don’t worry, this is not a Christmas site. They publish new sketches all year around, and their sketches are general enough to use for non-holiday-themed greeting cards as well. Here are some more samples from their recent posts …   Got inspired? Then why don’t you hop over to CSP to browse their posts a little more? …
