Enable Me: Big Pictures Photoshop Actions

This week, I have another special treat for you: A free photoshop action that can be very fun to apply to your photos and papers. Compared to the commercial version, the free version comes with very limited options. Nevertheless, this action is still fun to use and will give your page a fun twist. You can either put a collage together with 25 different images, or you can use one photo/paper that will be divided into 25 smaller images. You can leave the photos flat and orderly, or you can have the edges bent and individual images angled (as if a wind has swept through the whole) – all with one click. Here are some sample pages I did, using this photoshop action. Another more recent one: The photoshop action says it requires a rectangular/landscape image to work with, but when I used the squared background paper in my second layout, it still worked just as good! Simply click on the image above to go to PanosFX.com, scroll down the page a bit, and you …

I love Enable-Me-Wednesdays, because it’s so much fun to share some of the great resources available on the www with you. Simply click on the image above to get to the deviant art page, and click on the “Download File” link next to the image (right column). Hope you’ll enjoy this action set, and stay posted, for I still have lots of other photoshop actions to come!

Enable Me: Easter Card Inspiration & Projects

Easter is around the corner, so I went on a search for what scrappers can do with the occasion, and I got quite some inspiration. Two of which I will share with you today. First, I stumbled upon a website, scrapbooksetc.com, that offers a lot of ideas for easter pages and projects. Though it addresses more the traditional paper scrappers, their ideas still are a great source of inspiration for digital scrappers as well. I especially like their ideas for easter cards (click on image above to get to the website) they have, which are very simple, and yet, quite pretty. Besides that, I found a website that offers cute and simple Paper Piecing Patterns, free to download. Now, if you combine those paper piecing patterns with the card projects I mentioned first, I’m sure you can get some rocking easter cards to send out to friends and family. I for one, intend to try my hand on some of those piecing patterns, and will let you know how my finished projects turned out!

Enable Me: P365/52 – Log Your Memory

Project 365/52: for some of us that sounds like a huge challenge that can’t be mastered, others seem to come alive at the prospect of documenting every single day of the year, or at least every week in their lives. For those who shy away from the challenge, because it seems to overwhelming, I have to say that the task doesn’t have to be so intimidating as there are lots of resources that can help you document your lives. For those who are already involved with P365/52, but who are looking for new inspiration to bring new life into the P365/52 rut, I also have good news. The same: there is a ton of inspiration you can find to make your task easier. One of these great resources is a website, called: logyourmemory.com. When you go to this website, you can find lots of tools. The Memory Logbook is a book (hardcopy or downloadable) that provides lots of inspiration to document your life: ideas are based on seasons, holidays and events, and the book comes …

Enable Me: Snaggle’s Shadow Spectacular

Wednesday’s here, and that means it’s time to hook you up with another great internet resource. Since I’ve done a lot of photoshop actions recently (and I still have several more to come, so stay posted, if you don’t want to miss out on them), I thought, I’d enable you with another tutorial on how to create great shadows. In a thread over at scrapmatters.com, Carly (user “snaggle7575”) shared some insight into her process of shadowing a couple months ago. She gives us the exact specifications for how she does her shadows, and if you are still trying to find the best way how to shadow your digi-scrap elements and papers, then Snaggle’s Shadow Spectacular could be a very helpful tool for you. You can check out her post HERE or simply click on the image above. BTW, Paislee Press is giving away spot to an online scrapbooking class “Sketchbook 3.” If you haven’t heard about this, yet, you should check it out HERE.

Enable Me: Ideas for Titles

You may remember that a couple of weeks ago, I posted a tutorial on how to make your titles stand out. Back then I promised to hook you up with some great resources to inspire you and help you find the right title. So, today’s the day. Many of us experience this at some point: you finished your page, it looks great, but you just don’t know what title to use. You don’t want to refer to the much over-used “something-something- Memories,” yet again, or any of the other oh-so-typical phrases that you see all over the galleries. But your brain is having a blockage. You just can’t think of any fun or interesting title, you’re stuck! But there’s a way out of your dilemma. There are lots of scrapbooking websites (traditional and digital) out there that offer lists of suggestions for titles. Many are sorted by occasion/topic/event etc. which makes finding a title four your page really easy. Just find the topic that matches the theme of your layout and check out their inspiration. …
