Hybrid Hub: Autumn Luminary

Bastelecke: Herbstlaternen I’ve been crafting again, and since fall is the season of the year where things turn rather dark (days get shorter, skies grayer), I wanted to craft something that would light up my days a bit. So, I went and searched the Silhouette Online store to see what they had for luminaries or lanterns, couldn’t find anything that really pleased me, and decided to create my own. I got three designs at the store (two leafy backgrounds, and one piece of bunting), edited all pieces in the Silhouette Studio to turn them into four square pieces, which I connected, cut out, glued together and then be used with candles (I use real candles, but have them in little candle glasses for extra protection).

Hybrid Hub: (Mini) Book of Good Wishes

Basteleck: (Mini) Buch der Guten Wünsche   After sharing so many cards with you lately, I think it’s about time to show you one of the mini albums I created this past summer. This one I made as a book of good wishes for a birthday of someone dear. I asked other members of the family to contribute by writing their wishes and now this little book hopefully brings much joy to its receiver. I created this mini album using a cutting file by Lori Whitlock (available at the Silhouette Online Store) and Melissa Bennett’s “Serenity Springs” digital scrapbooking kit, printed everything and had it …

Freebie Friday: Autumn Word Art – Silhouette Project

Die-cutters, take heed! It’s Friday, and I have a something little special to share with you today. If you’re a proud owner of a Silhouette machine, this one’s for you! It’s a little piece of word art that would make a nice decoration for your home … What you’ll get in this freebie is a Silhouette Studio file. The words will be a little larger than you see in the Silhouette Studio preview, to fit my large frame, but you can easily resize it to meet your needs. I just used colored card stock to cut out the individual words, but you could also just print and cut. (If you print and cut, my recommendation is to offset each letter (spread the letters and words out a little more, creating more than one page) and fill that extra little bleeding space with the same color as the word. It’ll prevent to have white edges where the machine may not cut exactly at the edge of the printed character. After cutting, I adhered everything on an …

Hybrid Hub: Autumn Word Art

For weeks now I’ve been sharing some of my diy-cards for my hybrid posts. But hybrid and diy isn’t just only cards. It can be other fun stuff as well. Like this framed autumn word art project that I created a couple of weeks ago, and that now makes a nice piece of decoration in my living room.   With my Silhouette I just cut a couple of words, which I arranged on a large piece of craft paper to put in a frame. I added a little leaf for which I had left a blank spot. Done! But it really makes a nice piece of decoration. And if you come back tomorrow, you can download the silhouette studio file with which I made these words …

Hybrid Hub: Card #71

I’ve already begun making my annual Christmas cards (last year, though I sent them in November, they only arrived in February, so I figure I’m late already this year). At any rate, four cards are finished, and I’m going to show present them here in a little while. But first, I’d like to share another generic card with you: For this one, I cut three square pieces, underlaid them with a mat, and I printed the sentiment on the card base. I added a ribbon, adhered everything to the base, and finished was yet another pretty little something. Detail:

Hybrid Hub: Card #68

I have a few more cards to share before I’ll move on to some other interesting diy projects (mini albums, crafts, etc.). So, today I’ll give you a card in blue that I made. This one has two patterned papers that I complemented with a ribbon and a sentiment, which I printed and cut with the silhouette.   Detail:

Hybrid Hub: Card #66

Time for my weekly craft post. And I have another card to share with you (though I already have a couple of other craft objects ready to show off, too).   This card has a very simple patterned paper background map, which I wrapped with a large ribbon. Add the sentiment, and ready to go …   A closer look:
