Christmas in Town | Weihnachten in der Stadt

EnglishIt’s been too many years since I last spent a full Christmas season in Germany. That was well over a decade ago. Needless to say, I want to make the most of the time that I get to spend here this year. So, on the first day of Christmas market, sister and I decided to go into town to check out this year’s Christmas market. Our excitement was quickly dampened when we realized that due to covid restrictions this year’s Christmas in town will be very different than what I remember. DeutschEs ist so lange her, dass ich das letzte Mal eine volle Weihnachstzeit in Deutschland erlebt habe. Über ein Jahrzehnt. Da wunderts nicht, wenn ich mir vorgenommen habe, die Zeit voll auszukosten. So, am ersten Tag des Weihnachtsmarktes, beschlossen Schwesterherz und ich einen Besuch dorthin zu machen. Die Begeisterung wich schnell der Ernüchterung, als wir feststellen mussten, dass der Weihnachstmarkt dieses Jahr aufgrund der Covid-Einschränkungen mit früheren Jahren nicht vergleichbar sein würde.

I just made the yummiest hot chocolate ever and it was the easiest thing ever. And of course, I had to share it with you here. And Let the Season Begin … Every year again … it’s that time again: The most glamorous of all seasons. At least judging by my cozy little home. At no other times the lights twinkle and glitter more beautifully than at Christmas. It’s the time of Christmas cookies and treats, of hot cocoas and yes, a home that is far too warm, because around here wee don’t have control over our heaters. Then the only thing wee can do is, wear light clothes, and forget that outside winter has everything in its grip already.   Und so beginnt die Weihnachtszeit … Alle Jahre wieder … ist es mal wieder so weit: Die glanzvollste Zeit des Jahres beginnt. Zumindest, wenn man nach meinen heimeligen vier Wänden urteilt. Zu keiner anderen Zeit des Jahres glitzern und funkeln die Lichter so herrlich, wie zur schönen Weihnachtszeit. This time I have something for Silhouette Studio users. I love creating mini albums, and over that last couple of years, I’ve created a good number of them. This one I designed completely from scratch to use with 5×5 inch paper sizes. You see, recently I found these adorable 10 inch paper packs that I fell in love with. And they were perfect to cut down to 5 inch paper sizes. So, I needed an album to go with it. The albums I have in my Silhouette library are all exactly 5×5, for which I’d either have to cut down the papers a bit, or resize the album, but that often messes with thee proportions. 2018 Dezember Karten Inspiration Today I thought I’d show you the journaling cards I’ll be using for my December Album this year. I designed most of them for last year’s Document December Album, loved how they turned out and decided I wanted to use them again. I merely switched the colors to match this year’s project. I’d love to share them with you. However, I’m not sure about copyright/ commercial rights of the fonts I used. Of course, sharing them as freebies, I wouldn’t make any money off these cards, and sharing them in flattened png images, they wouldn’t be of use to anyone else, still, I haven’t figured out whether using them to share with you guys is legal, and I don’t want to get into trouble over something that I give away as freebies. Document December 2018 – A First Glimpse

December, however, usually is also the busiest month of the year for me, what with all the traditions and the celebrations. At the same time, I love doing Document December projects to commemorate the season. Last year, I bought a pretty Christmas paper pack that I was eager to use. But all the while I was wondering: How can I embark on another December Daily journey without it taking too much of my time? The answer: A super simple album that I prepare ahead of time, and that I then only need to fill with photos and journaling. So, I can honestly say, I’ve never been so on top of things with my DD projects as this year. Winter and Christmas in Nagold

Winter im weihnachtlichen Nagold It’s been in the forecast for a while now, but the other it finally happened. It snowed. And anyone who knows me will also know how much I like snow. Except that instead of being able to play in the snow, we were in town at the time it started. No reason to make a fuss, though. Nagold was beautiful, and signs of Christmas still all around. A perfect little outing. Es ist schon eine Weile vorausgesagt worden, aber die Tage ist es endlich so weit gewesen. Es hat geschneit. Und jeder, der mich kennt, weiß, wie sehr ich Schnee mag. Nur konnten wir diesmal nicht sofort in den Schnee, denn wir waren in der Stadt, als es zu schneien anfing. Allerdings ist das kein Grund, sich zu beschweren. Nagold war wunderschön und überall war es noch sehr weihnachtlich.
