The end of November is quickly approaching, the Christmas season has already started, but I want to highlight a very non-Christmas themed digi-kit today: “Reach for the Sky.” (Will try to show you some more Christmas products and layouts in the weeks to come, so check back in for that.)
Reach for the Sky
by Kristin Chronin-Barrow
This kit has a beautiful color palette of blues and browns, mixed with some pops of green and red, and though it seems to be made for more masculine layouts (color scheme wise), the flowers included will also work for beautiful feminine pages , which makes this kit quite versatile. Kristin also created some unique embellishments (kites, air balloons, and a fun pennant element) that look adorable on any page.
Check out what I did using “Reach for the Sky”:
I’ve recently gotten these great pictures that I h-a-v-e to scrap with, and though the pictures are all beach themed, I had to use Kristin’s kit with them and love how this page turned out. Admittedly, it’s basically a scraplift of Patti’s “Hugs and Kisses“, but I took the freedom to change things up a bit to make this page my own. While Patty used a lot of splats (which generally I love to use myself), but on this page I decided to keep things less cluttered so more attention could be drawn to the photos. Also, where Patti used papers for the strips, I used ribbons and ricracs (since Kristin’s kits usually come with an abundance of them). So my encouragement for you today is: if you see a page that catches your eye in the galleries, save it in your favorites’ folder, and scraplift it, even if you end up changing a lot. There are quite some treasures in the galleries!
Check This Out!
For reasons unknown to me, I wasn’t able to access the Sweetshoppe’s website for the last couple of days, but when I checked out the gallery after lunch today, I found a message from Krystal Hartley (SSD designer) sitting in my box saying one of my pages had made the Sunday Standouts. Actually, it’s a page I made a while back, but I’m still honored and for the reward got myself a nice treat:
Here’s what I got:
It’s the biggest sale of the year over at SSD (yep, Black Friday was upon us!), so I couldn’t let that chance slip, of course, and got myself some eye-candy:
With these two Christmas kits I already created something very delicious, but to find out what that is exactly you’ll have to come back tomorrow ..
And with Zoe Pearn’s coupon I got this:
