P2D: Afternoon in the Fields

Some websites have a great number of inspirational layouts. Sketchabilities is one such website that comes up with awesome sketches that are easy to scraplift digitally. Take a look at this layout: It was based on this sketch: I took the inspiration and tried to create a page that featured the following characteristics: One large central cluster on a round, scalloped mat; two smaller clusters at the top and bottom edges of the layout; two photos; embellish each cluster with a number of flowers and other elements. And this is what I came up with:

Hybrid Hub: Card #54 – Thank You

I’m so excited about my new Silhouette Cameo, and started crafting right away. Of course, I still have to figure out some of the settings, but that doesn’t mean I can’t show you what I’ve been creating so far … I found this cute little bunting somewhere online as a free printable, and I had to use it on one of my next projects. The rest was easy peasy to put together. I used plain cardstock, printed a patterned paper for the rosette flower, and assembled everything. Here more details:

Boy, oh boy, am I excited. Because guess what! I finally got a Silhouette Cameo cutting machine, which means I’ll be able to take my crafting up a notch or two. It arrived within 24 hours after I ordered it online, and now I’m so excited to share with you some of the projects that I’m working on, and to share with you some sites I found that offer tons of free stuff you can use with a cutting machine. Let me start off by saying that I’m constantly surprised to see how much stuff (by that I mean cutting files) you can find online for free! It’s so much fun how much you can use your die cutting machine even when you’re just starting out and only have a few things in your studio library. Journaling Café: Summer

Summer is at hand. At least in my part of the world it’s getting hot and hotter. Time to do a little journaling on what summer means for you? Summer for me usually means study and traveling. This year it also means family and fun. I took today’s journaling inspiration to create a page about my summer bucket list: I used Kristin Cronin-Barrow’s “Ready for Summer” digital kit, which came with tons of embellishments and was perfect for this topic. The font is Darcy Baldwin’s “DJB Sir Scraps A Lot” handwriting font. The font used for the journaling prompt was DJB Squirrels In My Pants by Darcy Baldwin, available at Sweetshoppedesigns.com.

P2D: Little Explorer

This week, I found a page created for paper crate that I found intriguing to scrap lift and turn into a digital layout. I scrapped about a recent picnic with my friends using the composition of this page, and the placement of papers, photos, and embellies as approximate guideline for my own page. Of course, being someone who loves to cluster, I had to add a couple more elements to my page, and switch out the placement of the title. Here’s how my digital version turned out:

Hybrid Hub: Card with Flower

I have a very simple card for you, one that was super easy to make and still has quite the fun result: All I needed for this was plain brown card stock (of varying shades), and I printed out some light blue flowers that I cut and folded just a tinsy bit. With some raffia, I gave it a last finishing touch, glued everything together, and there I created a pretty little greeting card.
