Treasure Sunday: November 27th

I went treasure hunting again, and look what I found … Out of Time by Celinoa What do you think of this page? I love the vintage feel to it, the clustering, and how everything looks so realistic. On top of that I love the special lighting in this image, and the overall color scheme.   Dream Come True by Ella_75 This page immediately stood out to me in the gallery. I think it looks fantastic with all the white space, and of course, I love splats, and brushes, so the little mess behind the photo cluster looks just perfect. I also love the pops of yellow, and the black and white photos are perfect for this layout.   Merry Christmas by Mama_Maike Now things will become more seasonal. The first Christmas page I want to point you to is “December Dreams” or “Merry Christmas” as she herself entitled the page. With all the clusters, this page has so much to look at, and the photos are adorable.   Christmas by TiernaerrinsDesign Here’s another page …

P2D: Fall Frolic

I love turning traditional layouts into digital scrapbooking pages. Not only do I love the inspiration I can find in the traditional galleries, but I also love the challenge of creating a digital page and making it look as realistic as possible. For today’s sample, I got inspired by this sketch, released by pagemaps.com: Here’s their sample page by a person called Lynn Reany: And here’s my take on that sketch: Now, who says that traditional scrapbooking sketches aren’t as useful for us digiscrappers as they are for the traditional scrappers?

Freebie Friday: Black Friday Break

Hey friends, I decided to take a break this weekend. After all, it’s Black Friday, and lots of digiscrap stores have serious discounts. (I know that sweetshoppe.com has a 40% discount today, and 30% for the rest of this weekend; and though I haven’t checked, most likely other stores will have similar deals.) So I’m sure you’ll get your treats anyways and do fine without a new template from me. And I’m sure you’ll still have a happy scrap-weekend with all the sweet deals. Thanks for stopping by, and happy scrappin’ everyone!

Hybrid Hub: Card No. 22 – Thanks

I’m in trouble. It’s late where I am, I’m tired, I should be going to bed, but I can’t. Because I seriously stuffed myself. And even hours after the event, I’m still way too full to put myself to sleep like this! With the Thanksgiving dinner being the best meal of the year and all, of course you’ve got to seize the opportunity. And with all the various dishes of stuffing (they come on the side here, not in the turkey), of course I feel stuffed. But anyways. That’s just a side note. I should talk about my current card. Of course, it being Thanksgiving and all, it had to be another thank-you card, and I made this one with an older Jenn Barrette contribution to one of the SSD Quarterly Assortments last year. I “stamped” the sentiment with one of the stamp alphas by Heather Roselli, and easy-peasy there’s another card ready to go and find its recipient! On that note, happy thanksgiving y’all!

Enable Me: Card Positioning Systems

The holidays are around the corner, and for many of us this means mailing out season’s greetings. What better reason do we need to get our crafty mojo going, and create our own Christmas cards? (Or any kind of card for that matter?) Today, therefore, I’d like to introduce you to a website that has become a great inspiration for my own card making in the last few months: Card Positioning Systems. The website runs like a blog, and on a frequent basis, sketches for greeting cards are released along with a full load of handcrafted cards that were created based on the sketches. What better inspiration do you need to kick your card-making up a notch? And don’t worry, this is not a Christmas site. They publish new sketches all year around, and their sketches are general enough to use for non-holiday-themed greeting cards as well. Here are some more samples from their recent posts …   Got inspired? Then why don’t you hop over to CSP to browse their posts a little more? …

Journaling Café: Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is right around the corner (at least for those Americans among us), and that means taking some extra time to think about what we are thankful for. Even if you’re not American, like I am, and don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, we always have reasons to be thankful for great and little things, so today’s journaling prompt is on the topic of thanksgiving. Have fun with these prompts, and don’t forget to link us up with your finished pages (if you used one of these ideas for one of your pages). The font used here is my own handwriting font DJB Squirrels In My Pants by Darcy Baldwin (available at the Sweetshoppe).

Treasure Sunday: November 20th

Oh, I found gorgeousness again this week. Check out the gems I have for you today … Precious by Imgdonahue Starting off with a wintery page, today, my jaw still drops every time I see this layout. What a great job she did with the blending, the composition, the cluster, and everything else. And I don’t even have to mention that beautiful, beautiful photo! What a precious, perfect page! Pieces of You by Cynthia Next I got this piece of art, and I totally think it’s perfect with the artistic feel, the scattered pieces of embellishments, the various little clusters, and pops of colors, and I love how she cropped the photo. Paradise by DoggiNo Moving on to this gem, which caught my eye, because of its overall composition, its blending, and the addition of the word definition. If I wasn’t so excited about the upcoming Christmas season, I’d definitely be longing for summer again when looking at this page. Cousins by kathleena Having neither Christmas season yet, nor summer any longer, let’s stay with …

P2D: Fall Fun

I found a new paper layout that got me inspired to create a new digiscrap version. Here’s “Feel the Wind” by Azumi: What caught my eye with this page was the playful composition around the photo, the paper pieces, and word art, and of course how she framed the part of the photo she wanted to emphasize. So, I took this layout and turned it into this … And if you are into P2D (paper 2 digi), then you should check out Azumi’s gallery, because it’s full of layouts that are a great inspiration for any digital layout.

Freebie Friday: Simple Pleasures

La di da, la di da, … I’ve got another template for you. Made this one from my newest page “Simple Pleasures,” and it’s a little exciting for me, because it actually is my template no. 40. Round numbers are always fun – don’t you think? But since I’m sure you’re not really interested in what I’m babbling here, and only stopped by to snatch away your little treat, let’s get down to business. Here’s my latest template freebie … What? Oh, you’re saying thank you? Well, it “simply” is my “pleasure!” Have a good Friday, everyone, happy scrapping, and don’t forget to leave some love, or even a link to one of your finished pages featuring one of my templates! Note: Please do not re-distribute this template in any way (you may share the link to this post), and when you use this template, please make sure to credit it to Misty Hilltops Designs.
