Hybrid Hub: Card #54 – Thank You

I’m so excited about my new Silhouette Cameo, and started crafting right away. Of course, I still have to figure out some of the settings, but that doesn’t mean I can’t show you what I’ve been creating so far …   I found this cute little bunting somewhere online as a free printable, and I had to use it on one of my next projects. The rest was easy peasy to put together. I used plain cardstock, printed a patterned paper for the rosette flower, and assembled everything. Here more details:

Enable Me: Digital Art by Daniela Angelova

Boy, oh boy, am I excited. Because guess what! I finally got a Silhouette Cameo cutting machine, which means I’ll be able to take my crafting up a notch or two. It arrived within 24 hours after I ordered it online, and now I’m so excited to share with you some of the projects that I’m working on, and to share with you some sites I found that offer tons of free stuff you can use with a cutting machine. Let me start off by saying that I’m constantly surprised to see how much stuff (by that I mean cutting files) you can find online for free! It’s so much fun how much you can use your die cutting machine even when you’re just starting out and only have a few things in your studio library. This week, I’ll therefore start sharing you Daniela Angelova’s blog. She also designs projects for the Silhouette online store, but when you check out her blog, you’ll find that she offers tons of stuff for free! And I mean, …

Journaling Café: Summer

Summer is at hand. At least in my part of the world it’s getting hot and hotter. Time to do a little journaling on what summer means for you?   Summer for me usually means study and traveling. This year it also means family and fun. I took today’s journaling inspiration to create a page about my summer bucket list: I used Kristin Cronin-Barrow’s “Ready for Summer” digital kit, which came with tons of embellishments and was perfect for this topic. The font is Darcy Baldwin’s “DJB Sir Scraps A Lot” handwriting font. The font used for the journaling prompt was DJB Squirrels In My Pants by Darcy Baldwin, available at Sweetshoppedesigns.com.

P2D: Little Explorer

This week, I found a page created for paper crate that I found intriguing to scrap lift and turn into a digital layout.   I scrapped about a recent picnic with my friends using the composition of this page, and the placement of papers, photos, and embellies as approximate guideline for my own page. Of course, being someone who loves to cluster, I had to add a couple more elements to my page, and switch out the placement of the title. Here’s how my digital version turned out:

Freebie Friday: Find Joy – Part 1

Well, it’s time for you to start collecting for you, and I’ve got good news, because I’ve got a brand new kit I’d like to share with you: “Find Joy.” As always, this kit is jam packed with papers and embellishments, and it’ll be perfect for you to scrap those summery moments in life, or even do some project life scrapping with it. Today, we’ll begin with the alphas again:   My Terms of Use haven’t changed, so you can only use this kit for your personal scrapping needs. No sharing (parts or all), and no direct linking is permitted. You may share a link to mistyhilltops.com to send people this way. I hope you’ll enjoy scrapping with this freebie. And now, all I’ve left to do is to wish you happy scrapping!   P.S. Previous freebie kits are still available for download, and if you have layouts with those kits, I’d be excited if you could link me up in a comment!

Hybrid Hub: Card with Flower

I have a very simple card for you, one that was super easy to make and still has quite the fun result: All I needed for this was plain brown card stock (of varying shades), and I printed out some light blue flowers that I cut and folded just a tinsy bit. With some raffia, I gave it a last finishing touch, glued everything together, and there I created a pretty little greeting card.

Inspire Me: Scrapbook & Cards Today

I’m always looking for more ideas and inspiration of things I can incorporate on one of my own pages. Fortunately, the www is so full of inspiration that there never seems to be an end to it. Today, I’d like to introduce you to another quite inspiring blog: Scrapbook & Cards Today. Over there, they’ve got tons of fun layouts, cards, and other projects for your scrapping needs, and you’re sure to find something to make your day happy and bright.

Journaling Café: End-of-the-School-Year

For many of us the end of the school year is at hand (for some sooner, for others later). For me, I’m almost done with this year, so I think it’s the perfect time to do some recap of what has mattered more or less in school this past year. Here are today’s prompts:         And of course, I can’t let you go without showing you one of the pages I’ve come up with to journal about friendships that I love to remember:

P2D: Banquet

I got inspired again. This time by a page which (admittedly) isn’t a traditional paper layout, but it still inspired to do a scraplift. (Of course not without my own modifications to give it my own style and stamp.) Here’s the page that I found:     And here’s my own page I did, using Lliella Designs’ Asian themed “Oishii” kit:   As you can see, I added a few more clusters, switched out the positions for journaling and titles, and thus made this page my very own. Why don’t you go and find yourself a layout (from the paper scrapping world) and turn it into a beautiful digi-page of your own making?

Freebie Friday: Summer Morning – Part 5

It’s that time again, when I’m excited to share with you the last part of my freebie kit “Summer Morning.” As usually, today you’ll receive the second part of the embellishments.   As always, my Terms of Use apply, meaning you’re only allowed to scrap personal use projects with this kit. And now, I’m super excited to show you what’s up next in line:   “Find Joy” is the kit that I’ll begin sharing with you next, so make sure you stop by again to start collecting the parts. By the way, do you like what you’re getting here? Well, I’m sure others would, too. So, why don’t you go tell others on twitter, Facebook, your blog, pinterest and send people this way for them to enjoy these freebies as well? (Older freebie kits are also still available for download.) At any rate, now that you’ve finished collecting all the parts for “Summer Morning,” it’s time to get you scrapping with this freebie. Don’t forget to leave a link to your finished projects in the comments. …
