Hybrid Hub: Card No. 20

It’s fall y’all – just in case I haven’t mentioned that enough these days! And, because it’s fall, of course, I’m gonna show you a fall-type card today. I made this one with Melissa Bennett’s “Autumn Memories” kit, and “stamped” the sentiment with Darcy Baldwin’s “My Stamp Pad Alpha.” And like most of my cards, it simply says “thank you.”   And now, on to some great news … ta da: Featured Layout The “Featured Layout” is back, just in case you haven’t noticed that either (though some of you have, which means you don’t really need to read the rest of this post, except for what’s going on at the bottom!). This morning, while in the shower, some genius struck me, and I decided to revive my “Featured Layout” page again. I hadn’t posted any of my layouts there in a long time, because I didn’t want to flood the Digi-Scrap Corner with all my layouts, making you feel bored out of your minds, or run away from this site, screaming with annoyance. But …

Hybrid Hub: Card No. 19

I’ve mentioned it before, I’m no fan of Halloween. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like halloween colors. On the contrary. Today I want to show off a birthday card I made last year that features the typical halloween colors of orange, gray, and black. I created this card with a limited edition kit by the Sweetshoppe designers, added a ribbon and some accents, and there was a card to brighten up someone’s birthday!

Let’s take a look at another thank-you card that I created a while back. This one was put together with a mini kit by Kristin Cronin-Barrow, which was part of a Quarterly Assortment last year, and still available at SSD. I also used Darcy Baldwin’s Stamp Pad Alpha for this. It comes with a pretty simple design, but adding the right kind of papers, it’ll make anyone happy to receive this little handcrafted token of gratitude.

October is the perfect month for flying kites – at least in Germany, where I grew up. So, it’s the perfect timing to share with you this happy thank-you-card – one of my all-time favorites that I created last year. I used Misty Cato’s “Blue Skies Smiling,” a beautiful scrapbooking kit that comes with pretty patterned papers, and the perfect set of elements for this hybrid project. For the sentiment, I used Darcy Baldwin’s Stamp Pad Alpha.

Hybrid Hub: Thank You Card No. 15

It was a happy hour for my hybrid heart today. I was out on a stroll on campus, when I came across a little shop that said “stationary store” on the outside. Had never really been in there, so I thought, I’d take a peek. Have been looking for some ways to create a hybrid mini book/album, but nothing the usual stationary/craft stores around have to offer would work for me. But lo, setting my foot into that store, I soon realized I had dug up a treasure! I sure must have spent at least an hour in there, combing through their piles of stuff, and in the end, left with an emptier purse than I had meant to, but a bag full of treasures and a happy heart. Now I have ribbons, miniature size (bull) clips, notebooks (that will do perfectly once I’ve torn them apart and use the paper for scrapping), and I even found a way how I could put together my December Daily album from last year that still needs lots …

I still have lots of hybrid projects to share with you in store (just finished another layout this morning, which I’ll be sharing with you some times soon), but today, I’m gonna show you another very simple card. This one was done with a collab by Traci Reed and MandaBean (retired SSD) “With or Without You,” and I used Darcy Baldwin’s Stamp Pad Alpha to “stamp” the sentiment. It’s so much fun, to turn a digital product into an actual hybrid project, and if you haven’t tried it yourself, it might be worth it giving it a shot!

Today, I’ve got a cute little card, I’d like to share with you. The kit I used for this was “Animal Crackers” by Libby Pritchett & Tracey Howard, though I think it’s no longer available. Too sad that there is no real translation for the sentiment, which literally translated means “strong like a monkey,” and which usually is used to express something really great or exciting.

Here is the next card that I made last summer, using Fee Jardine’s “Bliss.” This kit comes with cute embellishments that are perfect for cards, and it’s another example of how with very little extra supplies you can still create some simple cards. I’ve got lots of people to say thank you to, so this one’s another thank-you card, though you could easily use that label to write any kind of sentiment.

Here is my next sample of a thank-you-card, that I just finished. Darcy is bringing out a great new set of card templates this Saturday, and this card was created with one of those templates, which – by the way – are based on the cards of one of my favorite hybrid artists around, Andrea at the Sweetshoppe. I also used Julie Billingsley’s “Sisterhood,” a beautiful kit which she released recently, and for the flower I took the paper piecing patterns from scrapbooketc.com.
