It is finally here – the time to say goodbye to the group of students who have become some of my best friends these past four years. And of course, they asked me to pose for a graduation picture with them – even though the graduation ceremony got canceled due to covid restrictions.

But at least we could have a picture. And we got a special treat. The president of the university walked by just as we were lining up, and he offered to be in the picture with us. Only the fewest of all the thousands of grads get to have that opportunity!

Sie ist endlich gekommen – die Zeit, Abschied zu nehmen. Abschied von der Gruppe von Studenten, die über die Jahre zu meinen engen Freunden geworden sind. Und natürlich haben sie darum gebeten, für ein Abschlussfoto mit ihnen zu posieren. Auch wenn die Abschlussfeier für sie abgesagt wurde – aufgrund von Covid Restriktionen.

Aber zumindest haben wir ein Foto. Und wir haben sogar eine besondere Überraschung: Der Präsident der Uni ging gerade vorbei und bot an, mit aufs Bild zu kommen. Dieses Privileg wird nur den allerwenigsten der Tausenden Studienabgänger gewährt!
