Keeping Up
Can you tell I’m behind? Life just keeps coming at me, interfering with my plans and making things a little challenging. But then, I guess it’s a good thing to stay busy with real life. After all, a week from now, the students will be gone and life around campus will turn real quiet. So, I’d rather take that chance of extra time with my friends before I’ll have to go into hibernation!

Journaling Café: New Beginnings
A new year has started: 2012! A new year means another chance at life; another chance to start all over; to make a new beginning. I’m sure, there are things in your life for which you wish for a new beginning, another chance to make things better. Today’s journaling prompts, therefore, are all about these new beginnings, and maybe they’ll inspire you to think about that which in your life needs a fresh start …
Here’s my page about new beginnings:
I hope, today’s prompts will inspire your journaling this week, and if you like, you can share your pages with us as well.
The font used for the prompt is my own handwriting font DJB Squirrels In My Pants by Darcy Baldwin (available at the Sweetshoppe).
Last Week of Classes
The last week of classes today officially begins. Most students are taking final exams throughout the week, by Wednesday the first wave of students leaving for home will begin, and by the end of this week, our campus will be deserted yet once more!
Happy New Year, And Good News!
Well, I’ve wished you a happy new year already, so now it’s time to share some good news with you as well! The Sweetshoppe is open again, and that means we are in for some yummy treats. Not only do they present themselves with an all new look, and new features, tutorials, etc., but for those freebie lovers among you, I have some especially good news: SSD changed their policy (no freebies in the past), so now they offer free samples of their designs on their website. It gets even better. What used to be their Quarterly Assortment (a huge collection of mini kits for a really really low price) has turned into a free giveaway! So, whether you’re new to digiscrapping and are looking for some great products to start with, or whether you’re an old pro, you’ll sure be able to find something to complement your scrapping stash.
Just sayin’ …
Happy New Year!
Welcome to the year of 2012! My best wishes to everyone near and far, and I hope that this new year of 2012 will turn out to be a year of plenty, of success, and of growth!

Happy new year!!! Can you believe it’s 2012 already? Anyways, I have a new set of gems to show off to you again today, and I hope you don’t mind if they seem to be a little “old”, since they’re from last year ;-).
The Bus by fonnetta
I’m starting off the fingerpointing with this page which is all about waiting – for the school bus, that is! So full of bright colors and fun elements, this page also has a great composition, with the large photo that is perfectly complemented by the smaller photo and the journaling touches. It’s just so much fun to look at this page!
Remember It All by Natascha
Next, I want to point to this page, which is another one that I just can’t take my eyes off because there’s so much to discover. With all the papers stacked on top of each other, it has a great composition as well, the colors make it all fun and bright, and all the little and big elements are just perfect to make this page stand out!
Traditions by greenmother
With Christmas not even a week ago, of course we can be sure to still find lots of Christmas pages in the galleries. This one stood out to me because of its intricate clustering. Even though these clusters look quite elaborate, they don’t make this page feel overloaded. The soft color palette of the papers add to the overall beauty of this page, and the title perfectly combines the two sides with one another!
White Tree by stampin_rachel
More Christmas goodness. Here is a sample of what composition can do to a page! What a fun idea to clip the photo to paper strips the way she did. This page has a wonderful clean feel to it, and yet there’s so much to look at, and so many little details to discover.
Joy to the World by caroline
Blue is the perfect color for those wintery pages, and Caroline did a great job of capturing that wintery atmosphere with her page. The photos are adorable, the clustering impeccable, and the shadows make it all look very real. What a lovely and soft winter page.

Now we’re getting a little more artistic again. Even though there isn’t much in terms of scrapbooking on this page, I’d still like to point it out to you here because of its great artistic approach. What a beautiful job she did to turn the photo into this colorful, messy, and oh so fun piece of art!
Imagination by EllenT
And while we’re at it already, I’d like to showcase this page as well – a page so full of whimsey and fun! The blended photo just perfectly add to the pain splats to make this page look so artistic, and the combination of doodled and “real” elements gives this page the perfect little finishing touches!
This is it from me today. I hope you’ve enjoyed these pages as much as I have, and thanks for all of you who have contributed to today’s treasure quest by sharing your beautiful layouts with us and the world.
Happy year of 2012 to you all!
