P2D: Afternoon in the Fields

Some websites have a great number of inspirational layouts. Sketchabilities is one such website that comes up with awesome sketches that are easy to scraplift digitally.

Take a look at this layout:

It was based on this sketch:

I took the inspiration and tried to create a page that featured the following characteristics:

One large central cluster on a round, scalloped mat; two smaller clusters at the top and bottom edges of the layout; two photos; embellish each cluster with a number of flowers and other elements. And this is what I came up with:

A Friendly Recommendation

130620-Photo-JunGuess what happened the first day after I arrived at home? Yes, we got stuck in a storm. Now, I don’t usually mind storms. But this one not only dropped the temperature down to what I consider uncomfortable measures of cold, it also blocked our road on the way home. A friendly firefighter who was on the scene even kindly recommended to us (though not demanding it) to not take the road underneath the bridge because it was flooded and other cars had gotten stuck in the water, so we took a little detour to a store. And by the time we were done shopping, fortunately, the water was gone! Yay for newly renovated bridges that can’t handle a bit of rain, but drain the water quickly afterwards!

Hybrid Hub: Card #54 – Thank You

I’m so excited about my new Silhouette Cameo, and started crafting right away. Of course, I still have to figure out some of the settings, but that doesn’t mean I can’t show you what I’ve been creating so far …

I found this cute little bunting somewhere online as a free printable, and I had to use it on one of my next projects. The rest was easy peasy to put together. I used plain cardstock, printed a patterned paper for the rosette flower, and assembled everything. Here more details:

Ready for Take-Off

130619-Photo-Jun

After a crazy busy day yesterday, I was finally ready for take-off today. Not quite looking forward to a 30-hour journey, but at least I’m going to be rewarded with a summer among family and friends. A summer enjoying cheese and chocolate spread, and all the things you can’t easily get while away. I’ll keep you posted with what’s going on this summer. But for now I’m up up and away!

Enable Me: Digital Art by Daniela Angelova

Untitled-1

Boy, oh boy, am I excited. Because guess what! I finally got a Silhouette Cameo cutting machine, which means I’ll be able to take my crafting up a notch or two. It arrived within 24 hours after I ordered it online, and now I’m so excited to share with you some of the projects that I’m working on, and to share with you some sites I found that offer tons of free stuff you can use with a cutting machine.

Let me start off by saying that I’m constantly surprised to see how much stuff (by that I mean cutting files) you can find online for free! It’s so much fun how much you can use your die cutting machine even when you’re just starting out and only have a few things in your studio library.

This week, I’ll therefore start sharing you Daniela Angelova’s blog. She also designs projects for the Silhouette online store, but when you check out her blog, you’ll find that she offers tons of stuff for free! And I mean, some of her projects are gorgeous. If you’re looking for free Silhouette cutting files, you’ll definitely want to check out her place.

Ready for a Summer at Home

130618-Photo-JunI’m excited because things are getting quite ready for the summer. Like, I actually managed to get my passport back in time. Like, I managed to get my suitcase packed. Like I managed to squeeze in a picnic with friends for lunch and a big dinner with another set of friends in the evening. Like, I managed to get spare keys and give instructions for those who’ll take over my place for the summer. Like, I managed to finish my last load of laundry, and make sure my place is somewhat clean for those who’ll be here this summer. Oh, and like I managed to even clean my bike so I can have it stored in my apartment for while I’m gone. And after all the late night visits and so, now I’m actually ready for a summer at home!
