Aahh! It’s been forever since I last posted. Can you tell I’ve been terribly busy this summer? But now I’m back – finally! And I thought: How about I share some pics with you that I took back in Hong Kong? Actually, I was so busy that I didn’t even get to see much at all, but here are a couple of things I’d like to share with you:
Visit to Stanley
It was the first little trip we took, and I think it’s still one of my favorite days in Hong Kong. We had perfect weather, and it was just right to find myself a beach and enjoy life …
Ma On Shan
My second favorite day in Hong Kong was when I took the subway out to Ma On Shan. All I had hoped for was to get somewhere near the water, but as I’m sure you all know – if you’ve never been there before, you’ll never know whether the place you picked is actually worth a trip. Mine that afternoon definitely was. It only took me a couple of minutes to get there, and finding the water was a lot easier than google maps had made me think it was. In the end, the spot I picked was better than I had hoped to find so close to where I stayed – a promenade that stretched for miles along the waterfront, and I even found myself a beach (where the tide was low, and lots of people were digging for shells). See for yourself …
Escalators, Ferry & Light Show
Another one of my favorite outings in the city was the day we went to the escalators. Yes, you heard right! Somewhere in Hong Kong Central they’ve built escalators that take you up one of those hills. You can get on and off for shopping, stopping at any of the tons of restaurants, etc. Using the escalators was a ton of fun, though we didn’t go all the way up, since that would mean we’d have to walk all the way down again. Instead we stopped at one of the restaurants, and then took the ferry across the harbor to watch the famed Hong Kong light show they put on there every night. Have a look-see:
And here is little (pretty bad quality, lol) video clip, just to give you an idea:
(Just keep clicking on “Hong Kong Light Show” until you get to that clip. And it’s my first time actually posting a video, so I’m sure there’s room for improvement, lol.)
