So far, I’ve always done cards for the hybrid hub. But today, I have a specialty. Not too long ago, I actually sat down to create a hybrid layout, and it was so much fun seeing the project come together and unfold in front of my eyes.
I had decided to do a hybrid page for my students. They would have no clue otherwise, if I just told them that one of my favorite hobbies is digital scrapbooking. So I thought, if I created a page that I can take to class with me and actually show them, they would understand immediately what scrapbooking is. Hence, I chose the topic to be some introduction to myself. Of course, being in China, I can’t just go to the next craft store to pick up some pretty flowers and other kind of embellishments – there simply are no such craft stores around. So I have to make-do with printing everything that goes on a page, and be content with that.
This page, by the way, was actually inspired by a blog post of Zoe Pearn’s over at the SSD blog. It comes with a free template that can be used, both digitally as well as for a hybrid project like this. The kit I used was Meghan Mullen’s “This Is Me.” I resized everything to fit the parameters of an A4 size paper, printed, cut and reassembled everything again. Here are some more details:
