So, it’s been really hot outside lately. And when I say hot, I mean sizzling hot. And anyone in or near Germany knows that means it’s pretty tough to stand because our summers are usually pretty cool, so no one generally has A/C or anything of the sort. Of course, we know our ways around the heat, which usually involves going to the mall (which generally have A/Cs) or the swimming pool. But I had a really brilliant idea the other day (though, admitted, I can’t credit myself of having a quite unique idea). I suggested we could go to one of Germany’s famous ice-cream parlors (which are also very popular resorts in summer). Everyone in the family found the idea quite splendid except for the fact that the very first day we were able to finally get everyone together was also the very day the temperature suddenly dropped by 10 or more degrees. But although we don’t really need ice-cream any longer to cool us down, ice-cream is still very popular in the family. And really, who needs the excuse a hot day to enjoy some pretty awesome ice-cream creation?

Also, in letzter Zeit war es ja ziemlich heiß. Und wenn ich sage heiß, dann meine ich Affenhitze. Und jeder in oder um Deutschland weiß, dass das manchmal ziemlich hart sein kann, da der Ottonormalverbraucher generell ja keine Klimaanlage hat. Natürlich haben wir Wege, uns die Hitze erträglicher zu machen, was normalerweise einen Besuch im Shoppingcenter (die ja generell Klima haben) oder im Schwimmbad bedeutet. Ich hatte allerdings eine ganz brilliante Idee (obwohl sie zugegebenermaßen nicht unbedingt einmalig war). Ich schlug vor, wir könnten ja zum Eisessen gehen (was hier im Sommer ja auch sehr beliebt ist). Die ganze Familie fand diesen Vorschlag auch klasse. Doch als wir endlich soweit waren, alle zusammenzubekommen, ist die Temperature jetzt auf einmal um mindestens 10 Grad gefallen. Aber auch wenn wir Eis nicht mehr brauchten, um uns abzukühlen, war der Vorschlag in der Familie ziemlich gut angekommen. Und wirklich … wer braucht schon einen heißen Tag, um einen tollen Eisbecher zu genießen?
