But the stipulation has been: We need at least 10 people in order for said transportation to be provided. The problem: Due to the covid situation, the number of the foreign faculty is down so far, there are never enough teachers to go. I’ve been trying for weeks to get to Ikea, because I wanted to get my hand on some of their gingerbread houses – while the season lasts. But every week it was the same story: the shopping trip is canceled. But finally, the office took heart and promised: there will be a trip, no matter how many sign up. And here we went. Funny, all of us that went had Ikea as their destination, so we made a group trip there. And I was happy to check out their Christmas section, and more …
EnglishI’ve been busy these days. Can you tell? I don’t think my Christmas plate ever had this many different homemade Christmas cookies as I’ve been having this year. And each kind of them tastes different, but good. Obviously, this is only thanks to all the little and big helpers I’ve had. DeutschIch hatte zu tun in den letzten Tagen. K¨onnt ihr das sehen? Ich denke mein Weihnachtsteller hatte nie so viele verschiedene selbst gebackene Leckereien, wie dieses Jahr. Und jede Sorte schmeckt anders und trotzdem gut. Klar, dass diese Vielfalt nicht ohne meine kleinen und großen Helfer entstanden wäre.
EnglishI was allowed to play Santa Clause today – and bring lots of goodies. You see, here the delivery system doesn’t deliver to your door. You have to go to their locality, and pick up the package there. And can you tell: I’m having lots of fun with the things that arrive these days. DeutschHeute durfte ich mal Weihnachtsmann sein, und lauter nette Dinge liefern. Das Versandsystem funktioniert hier nämlich so, dass alle Pakete an eine Station in der Nähe geliefert werde, und dann muss man die Pakete von dort abholen. Und ich kann euch sagen: Ich hab Spass mit den Dingen, die in letzter Zeit in meinem “Postfach” landen!
