Israel 2.0 – Arad & Dead Sea

Today, we make it to the desert town of Arad where we spend most of our day with new friends we make here.They take us to a fun restaurant for lunch, and then to a lookout from which you can see all the way to the Dead Sea in the distance. The weather is so clear that our hosts tell us they’ve never seen Jordan across the sea from this vantage point. We just took the clear sight for granted. Heute machen wir uns auf den Weg in die Wüstenstadt Arad. Hier verbringen wir den größten Teil des Tages mit neugewonnenen Freunden. Sie nehmen uns in ein interessantes Lokal zum Mittagessen, und dann zu einem Aussichtspunkt, von dem man bis ans Tote Meer sehen kann. Das Wetter ist so klar, dass unsere Gastgeber uns erzählen, sie haben Jordanien auf der anderen Seite des Meeres von hier aus noch nie gesehen. Wir haben die klare Sicht einfach als Selbstverständlichkeit hingenommen.                                 …

Change of Scenery | Szenenwechsel We’re leaving the north of Israel, and spend most of our day on the road to the Dead Sea.After moving into our new accommodations, an apartment in Neve Zohar, we make for a nearby beach to have a little swim in the sea. Wir verlassen den Norden Israels und verbringen den Großteil des Tages auf der Straße zum Toten Meer.Nachdem wir unser neues Quartier in Neve Zohar bezogen haben, gehts zum nahen Strand und zum Baden im Meer.                    

Israel 2.0 – Bet She’An & Gan HaShlosha

Bet She’An Today’s trip is a little further away – Bet She’an archeological site, situated south of the Sea of Galilee. The entrance fee is included in our Israel Pass, and we spend a couple of hours exploring this site. It’s an interesting place and well worth the visit. Das Ziel für heute liegt ein bisschen weiter weg: Bet She’an National Park, eine archäologische Stätte südlich des See Genezareths. Der Eintritt ist in unserem Israelpass enthalten und wir haben uns ein paar Stunden hier aufgehalten. Israel 2.0 – Sea of Galilee | See Genezareth

Betiha Nature Reserve Our first stop of the day was the Betiha Nature Reserve (north of the Sea of Galilee and included in the Israel Pass). We felt it wasn’t much of a site, but a fun fact is that you can walk through the stream for part of the way through the park. The water was pretty cold when we walked through it and may not be for the fainthearted. Unser erster Stopp des Tages war das Betiha Naturreservat (nördlich vom See Genezareth und einer der Punkte des Israelpasses).  Wir fanden es war nicht das sehenswerteste Ziel. Aber etwas Besonders war, dass man Teile der Strecke durch den Park im Flussbett durchwaten konnte.
