Schesaplana Hike | Schesaplana Wanderung

Day 2 of our hike begins with the most glorious sunrise which I watch from the window of my dorm. After a regular breakfast we set out. This hike is a bit more demanding. Some parts of the trail are a bit more exposed, and it’s definitely not the kind of hike for the untrained person. Being able to handle heights is just as useful as being steady footed. Tag 2 unserer Wanderung beginnt mit dem herrlichsten Sonnenaufgang, den ich vom Fenster meiner Unterkunft erleben darf.Nach einem regulären Frühstück geht’s bald darauf los. Eine anstrengende Wanderung liegt vor uns mit einigen exponierten Stellen. Diese Route ist nichts für den ungeübten Wanderer. Schwindelfreiheit sind genauso hilfreich wie Trittsicherheit.                                 Walking right past the border to Switzerland, we eventually make it to the summit of Schesaplana. Totalp Hike – Day 1 | Totalp Wanderung – Tag 1

I’m back in the mountains. This time brother-in-law, nephew, and buddy are my hiking companions. We decided to check out the Austrian Alps, though we’re not far from the German border, and the Swiss border will be just the reach of an arm away as you will see.Our destination today will be the Totalp Cabin where we’ve booked lodging to stay overnight. (The Alps can be busy this time of year, and it pays off to book well in advance.)We get there by car, which we park at the valley station of the cable car.But we don’t take the cable car. As we have the entire day ahead of us, and taking the cable car will only save us an hour or so, we take to the trails right from the start. Ich bin zurück in den Bergen. Zeeland Highlights – Part 5

Middelburg, Westkapelle, Zierikzee More picturesque towns and places in Zeeland are the towns Middelburg, Westkapelle with its lighthouse, and Zierikzee. Weitere hübsche Städtchen in Zeeland sind die Orte Middelburg, Westkapelle mit seinem Leuchtturm und Zierikzee.             Westkapelle In Westkapelle we took to the bikes again und rode along the dyke until we got to the lighthouse, which could be seen from afar. In Westkapelle holten wir unsere Fahrräder hervor und fuhren auf dem Deich entlang bis zum Leuchtturm, der schon lange sichtbar war.             Seal Trip | Seerobbentour From Zierikzee we also started our seal watching tour. It was advertised as a sailing trip, but no sails were set. Still, it was a lovely trip, and we did get to see the seals. Von Zierikzee aus ging es auch auf Seerobbentour. Eigentlich hatten wir eine Segeltour gebucht, aber die Segel wurden nicht ausgefahren. Es war trotzdem ein netter Trip, und die Robben haben wir auch gesehen.                   …

Vlissingen, Breskens, Goes Here you can see some of the highlights from our trips to Vlissingen, Breskens, and Goes. Hier könnt ihr ein paar der Highlights von unseren Touren nach Vlissingen, Breskens und Goes sehen.           Breskens To get to Breskens, we had to take the ferry. We had bikes with us, so we parked the car in the center of Vlissingen, then took the bikes on the ferry and explored Breskens on bike.The highlight in Breskens was the lighthouse. Um nach Breskens to kommen, mussten wir die Fähre nehmen. Wir haben das Auto im Stadtzentrum von Vlissingen gelassen, und sind mit den Fahrrädern per Fähre nach Breskens übergesetzt, das wir mit dem Fahrrad erkundet haben.Highlight von Breskens war der Leuchtturm.
