Between My Worlds

Zwischen den Welten   This is it! Once more I had to say good-bye to home and all that is part of who I am. Once more I’m about to face the familiar other world I call my home as well. The place that is so different and yet, has become so much part of my life. But first, I spent a good 20 hours in between those worlds. Up in the air, so to speak, and I’m looking forward to coming back home again. Das wars! Einmal mehr musste ich der Heimat und all dem, was mich ausmacht, auf Wiedersehen sagen. Wieder einmal gehts für mich in die vertraute Fremde, die andere Welt, die mir inzwischen auch Heimat geworden ist. Dort ist es so anders und doch ist auch das Teil meines Lebens. Aber erst einmal musste ich gute 20 Stunden zwischen diesen Welten verweilen. Hoch oben in den Wolken, einer eigenen Welt für sich. Und ich freue mich schon darauf, nach Hause zurückzukommen.

Project Life 2015 – Week 36

Projekt Leben 2015 – Woche 36   Don’t you think time just flies? Another week is gone and I don’t know how that happened! Well, to tell the truth, I didn’t want to scrap this week pocket style at first. I’ve really developed a habit of not taking pics any more except for special occasions (of which, admittedly, there have been too many lately, which is why I’ve always had tons of pics to use these past couple of weeks). So, when week 36 was over, I realized I hadn’t taken any photo at all. Not with my camera and not with my phone or anything else. So, what do you fill your pockets with, if you have not one single photo to show for a week? Esp. when considering that a lot of noteworthy things happened, for which I simply didn’t take out any camera? But then a stroke of genius hit me! Apple Season

Apfelzeit   I’m enjoying my last couple of days at home, and that means I get to see the apples getting ready. Funny thing is, they planted lots of apple trees along the road, and those apples look good and yummy, but really, they don’t belong to anyone. So, I guess that’s a good thing. Because that means they really belongs to everyone and that means people in our town are lucky, coz come apple season they get lots of fresh fruit for free. Ich genieße noch meine letzten Tage daheim und das heisst, ich kann mit ansehen, wie die Äpfel reif werden. Das lustige ist, jemand hat eine Reihe von Apfelbäumen am Straßenrand gepflanzt, die alle gut und lecker aussehen. Aber sie gehören eigentlich niemandem so richtig. Aber das ist wohl auch ganz gut so. Denn das heisst, sie gehören eigentlich allen. Für die Leute im Ort ist das toll, denn wenn erstmal Apfelzeit ist, dann bekommen sie eine Menge frisches Obst umsonst!

Craft Corner: Lighthouse 2

Bastelecke: Leuchtturm 2   Remember the lighthouse I made last year? It’s made from card stock and looks pretty awesome when used as decoration around the house. This summer, I visited my sister who also owns a Silhouette Cameo. So, I decided to make her a little lighthouse as well. She’s a total lover of gray and white, so she requested that I use some gray scrapbooking paper she’s got around the house to make her lighthouse. And this is how it turned out: (I used the photos from her blog, because I totally forgot to take pics of it, while visiting her.) Erinnert ihr euch noch an den Leuchtturm, den ich letztes Jahr gebastelt habe? Er ist aus Tonkarton und ist perfekt als Deko geeignet. Diesen Sommer habe ich meine Schwester besucht, die auch eine Silhouette Cameo besitzt. Also habe ich beschlossen, ihr auch einen Leuchtturm zu basteln. Project Life 2015 – Week 35

Projekt Leben 2015 – Woche 35   Another week has passed, and this one was full of fun stuff that could actually fill an entire album. So it was quite the challenge to reduce the number of photos to the couple ones that actually made it on the spread. Eine weitere Woche ist vergangen und es war eine Woche voller toller Ereignisse, die sogar ein ganzes Album füllen könnten. Daher war es eine Herausforderung, die Anzahl der Fotos so zu reduzieren, dass sie auf diese Doppelseite passen.
