I’ve reached a milestone the other day. Never in all my history have I ever mailed off my Christmas cards this early. But it did it. In hopes that this year, they may actually arrive at their destination in time. Officially, they’re supposed to arrive within 10 days. But last year, those 10 days translated into 3 months (funny how what means 10 days to some means 3 months to others, isn’t it?) But they did arrive finally (in early spring of this year), giving me motivation to try mailing my Christmas cards no later than mid November. Speedy journey, dear little friends! P&D (Papier & Digital): A Snowy Christmas? I’m happy to report that I got inspired again, by a paper layout that has so many beautiful little details that it was a real joy lifting it. National Heater Day

Nationaler Heizungstag National heater day has come, and that usually is a highly anticipated day. You see, November here can get quite chilly some times (we’ve even had snow by early November in the past), but no matter how cold or warm it is outside, the heaters only get turned on on November 15th, which is – ta da – today! Except, I’m not really as dependent on the heaters in my apartment. I have an A/C to keep me warm. Hold on, you say, A/C? How does that keep you warm? Well, I say in return, my A/C can also be used as a heater. Rush Hour auf dem Campus Life on campus can get really busy at times. In fact, sometimes it’s so busy that you end up in a big fat traffic jam of people walking. This usually happens right around lunch time, when all the students get out of class at the same time and try to get back to their dorms, or one of the many cafeterias on campus. I usually ride my bike to class, but trying to get back home I’m usually not much faster than all the walkers, due to the fact that there are too many walkers for anyone to get through … Das Leben auf dem Campus kann manchmal sehr geschäftig werden. Hybrid Hub: Autumn Luminary

Bastelecke: Herbstlaternen I’ve been crafting again, and since fall is the season of the year where things turn rather dark (days get shorter, skies grayer), I wanted to craft something that would light up my days a bit. So, I went and searched the Silhouette Online store to see what they had for luminaries or lanterns, couldn’t find anything that really pleased me, and decided to create my own. I got three designs at the store (two leafy backgrounds, and one piece of bunting), edited all pieces in the Silhouette Studio to turn them into four square pieces, which I connected, cut out, glued together and then be used with candles (I use real candles, but have them in little candle glasses for extra protection).   Ich bin mal wieder kreativ geworden, und weil der Herbst die Jahreszeit ist, in der es eher düster aussieht (die Tage werden kürzer, der Himmel grauer), wollte ich etwas basteln, dass mir die Tage ein wenig heller machen kann.
