Freebie Friday: School Is Cool – Part 5

Can you believe it? I’m already sharing the last part of this freebie kit, which means you finally get to play with it! Yay for that. Today you’ll get the remaining part of the embellishments. Remember to pay attention to my Terms of Use (personal use only). And now, all I have left to do is to hint at the fact that my next freebie kit is in the making, that is, it’s almost completed. And I’ll say this much: it’s perfect for scrapping all those autumn moments in your life. So make sure to check back here soon, so that you don’t miss to collect all the parts. PS. If you’ve missed some of the older freebie kits, they’re still available for download. (Just check the tag “freebies” and you’ll find plenty of stuff to download!)

Hybrid Hub: Card #66

Time for my weekly craft post. And I have another card to share with you (though I already have a couple of other craft objects ready to show off, too).   This card has a very simple patterned paper background map, which I wrapped with a large ribbon. Add the sentiment, and ready to go …   A closer look:

A Slow Good-Bye

So, here’s the deal: I’m leaving home to go home. Does that sound confusing to you? It sure is for me. Because I’m glad to go home to where my real life takes place with work, friends, and all the obligations. At the same time I’m sad to be leaving home, where I’m among like-minded people, where also a lot of my friends live, and where my family is, too. So, these days, I’ve been slowly saying good-bye. Good-bye to my little hometown, to all the old familiar places, and I’ve been trying to imprint on my mind all the details of home and the life that I’m going to be leaving behind here. It’s a very slow good-bye!

Apple Picking

We have a lovely visitor among us this days. My sister, coming all the way from the south to see me. This, however, means that my time in Germany is coming to a closure (because she came to see me one last time before I’m heading out). It also means that I won’t be here any more when the time of the apple harvest comes (which is almost here already), nor will I be able to enjoy the plums, and nuts and all the other yummy things that are growing in my parents’ backyard. So, actually, though it makes me very happy to see my sister, it also makes me very sad, because of what her coming really means.

Journaling Café: Book Lover

In some places, autumn is just around the corner, which means the weather’s getting colder, the days shorter. Perfect for those lazy afternoons, cuddled up with a blanket and a book on your lap. So, today’s journaling prompts are all about your (hopefully) love for books: I always have a book or two on my hands, so I have something to say about the topic myself. Here’s the page I created, based on today’s prompts:       The font used for the journaling prompt is DJB Squirrels in My Pants by Darcy Baldwin, available at sweetshoppedesigns.com.

Chocolate Cake Delights

I got a little treat today. Or should I say, a rather large treat? (Because as a matter of fact, it was so huge, that I had to share part of it with someone else.) If anything, it was a rich treat. A chocolate-rich chocolate cake – more something like mousse au chocolat. Definitely on the delicious side of things, and definitely a treat. But before you start complaining about how I can share such delicious things on my blog without giving you a chance to really share in it, keep in mind that this is my last good treat in a while. Soon, I’ll turn my back on good ol’ Germany again, and then such treats will be something I relish in my memories for quite a while …

scrapbook layout, travel

P2D: Zermatt

P2D simply means turning traditionally scrapped paper layouts into digital layouts by scraplifting them. For today’s post, I found an awesome page that had lots of fun things that really caught my eye: About this page, I loved all the fun layers of papers and embellies. I loved the big cluster of embellishments, the paint splats and the torn paper pieces, and these things I tried to incorporate on my own page:
