Good to Know …

Notices. They come as unexpected as you would think. And they come frequently. Good to know that I didn’t know about this specific notice until after the fact, or else it might have ruined my day. You see, with the holiday and all, I went to play tennis right around lunch time. And of course, after playing tennis, I really needed a shower. Go figure. And the time I took the shower was right between 2 and 3 pm. Had  I known about the notice, of course, I would’ve delayed the shower, which would have made me feel rather uncomfortable all afternoon. As I didn’t know about the alleged lack of water in the pipes, however, I was just perfectly content to scrub off the dust and dirt from the exercise, never even noticing that we weren’t supposed to have any water. Well, I guess, sometimes it’s good you don’t know of any notices, right? Or else you might be tempted to actually take them serious …

Freebie Friday: Breath of Fresh Air – Part 1

I’m quite excited to begin sharing with you my next freebie kit, “Breath of Fresh Air,” a kit perfect to scrap outdoor-type memories, and yet versatile enough to use it for a wide range of topics and themes. Once more, this kit is jam-packed with goodies: 24 papers, 3 alphas, and more than 70 elements, including stitches and photo pockets. And what’s best about it: Once more you’ll get it all for free (and believe me, elsewhere you’d have to pay good $$ in order to get something like this). So, feel free to share about the MHT Designs freebies on your blogs, facebook, twitter, etc., and point other people this way, so more scrappers can enjoy the goodies. As always, my terms of use apply, which means, you can only use the contents of this kit to scrap for your personal use, and you may not share any of the contents with anyone else. Simply send them here, and they’ll be able to pick up the pieces just like everyone else. Sooo, don’t forget …

Somewhat of a Holiday Season

No, we’re not on break. As a matter of fact, school can get even tricky at times, because you always have to keep an eye on the calendar to make sure you don’t miss Sunday school. Oh, wait! Did I say Sunday school? Well, what I mean is classes on Sunday. Yes, I agree with you. Having to go to school on Sunday doesn’t really sit right with me, either. But having classes on Sunday means, on the other hand, that there are some extra days without class. Today would be such a day. Because it’s the Tomb-Sweeping-Holiday. And since I’m lucky enough to teach on a Thursday, it means that I have an extra day off because of the holiday. It also means that I try to get that extra hour or two of tennis (after all, you’ve got to seize that rare opportunity when there’s a day midweek, when there’s no classes out on the tennis courts). But playing that extra hour of tennis also means you’ve got to make some sacrifices elsewhere. …

Are you one of those people who always likes to improve their digital scrapbooking skills, or likes to learn new things about Photoshop? Well, then I have something for you today. And then … nothing happened

Do you remember the construction progress on our building that I’ve mentioned a couple of weeks ago? Well, they’re still building the scaffolds. And their favorite time tends to be early on weekend mornings; that is at times when residents are actually trying to sleep. But if you take a closer look at the progress they’ve made you have to realize that actually … well, nothing really happens. At least not to the building. I’m sure they’ve been putting up the scaffolds for a reason, though, so I guess I’ll have to continue to wait and see …

Behind the Scenes: The Evolution of a Digital Scrapbooker

Tons of people dream of getting a spot on various CTs for their favorite designers. Some people’s dreams come true, others still wait for them to be discovered. If you’re someone whose just started out on digital scrapbooking recently, I may offer you a piece of advice: be patient. Developing your scrapbooking skills takes time. It also takes determination and a desire to do the job well. There are various skills a digital scrapbooker needs to develop in order to make a page interesting and looking well. If you desire to improve your scrapbooking skills, don’t neglect those areas: Composition It’s a major part of a scrapbooking page. If you just scatter things randomly on a page, chances are that it probably will look like that: a simple scattering of elements and stuff. Nothing to draw the eye. Anyone involved with art, however, will know that our eyes wander, and by the way we position things on our page, we can give our eyes direction, and make them wander on purpose – there’s a flow. …

April Fool’s Day

It’s Easter still, where I come from, but that doesn’t mean it’s a holiday where I live now. As a matter of fact, these days it’s business as usual (as I told you last week), since people here know nothing of Easter, really. But they do know about April Fool’s Day. Lucky for me, I didn’t get tricked, and being busy trying to keep today a holiday for myself as well, I didn’t really get a chance to trick anyone else, either. But then I figured: there are worse things in life than missing out on April Fool’s Day!   And I did get myself a little Easter greeting from my family, too. Look:
