The Dust Invasion

When your eyes start hurting and feel irritated, then you know something is wrong. And of course, when you hear the wind rattling around the corner of the house, you really know something’s wrong. And then, when you look out of the window, and you see how the sky has turned yellowish and everything is wrapped in a thick cloud of dust, that’s when you know: it’s a sand storm. And trust me, sand storms are no nice things. You know why when you see the layer of dust slowly descending onto every surface in your home, and when everything you touch feels a bit more slippery than usual, because it’s covered in tiny fine little grains of dust.

The Exciting Uses of a Hole Puncher

One of the fun things about living abroad is being able to witness the excitement simple everyday items can cause around here. Take a hole puncher, for example. Where I grew up, basically every member of a family would have their own hole puncher, simply because it’s needed for all sorts of things in school, work, home, etc. And believe me, a hole puncher is no reason to cause excitement there at all. Here, however, things are quite different. Here, people can be fascinated at how a hole puncher works, how it’s able to – yes – punch holes perfectly into a paper! It makes me realize how much gratitude I owe to this little thing whenever it helps me punch holes. And it makes me realize what a lucky person  I am to be the proud owner of a hole puncher!

Behind the Scenes: 5 Tricks & Tools I Use Most Often

Today, I’m going to take you once more behind the scenes of my own processes of scrapbooking. I thought, it would be a good idea to show you some of the tricks, tools, and techniques I use on almost every layout of mine.   1. Alignment There is no page, on which I don’t use the alignment tool. Most often, I use it to align alphas, and to position my clusters on the page (if I want to make sure something is centered or spread out evenly). There are two ways to align things on a layout: Align within a selection (Marquee Tool or Magic Wand) Align in relation to other elements (select all layers you want aligned and align to each other, or spread out evenly)   Aligning the alpha [border ]   2. Blending & Opacity I love making things look realistic on a page. One way to make your journaling (fonts) and brushes look as if they were really placed on your paper (as opposed to floating) is by adjusting blending modes …

Shady …

Today is the day when I can actually see my shadow. Which means that today is the day when the pollution isn’t all too bad. Which means that today is the day when the sun is out. Which means that today is the day when I can walk outside in a sweater without freezing for the first time this year. Which means that it’s starting to get warmer outside. Which means that SPRING is coming!!!

Journaling Café: Conversation

We talk. Everyday. To a lot of people. But how many of our conversations actually make it onto our scrapbook pages or into our journaling? Today, I got you a couple of prompts to journal about conversations and the way we communicate. And of course, I can’t let you go without giving you some inspiration with one of my own pages …
