Photo Challenge Day 7: Fruit

In the cafeteria, they still haven’t gotten over the water melon season yet (serving water melon almost every single day). Since I don’t particularly like to mess around with water melon, I went into a fruit store on campus yesterday to get myself a happy alternative, and so this one came in handy to pose as my model today! And remember: An apple a day keeps the doctor away! Maybe it’ll help me some!

Freebie Friday: Prevail

It’s free template time, and today’s template is based on my page “Prevail” that I created a just the other day. Hope you’ll have fun with this one. By the way, the reason why I had to cut off all links and set up new ones is because MistyHilltops.com was getting too much traffic last month -something I can’t complain about, but I wasn’t quite prepared for it either, lol! Now I’ve learned my lesson, things are fixed, and you should be able to download everything again as usual. Sorry for any inconveniences and the delay in all. I know using mediafire isn’t the best solution (I myself can’t access it without support), but for now it will have to do. Anyways, wishing you a happy Friday as always! Note: Please do not re-distribute this template in any way (you may share the link to this post), and when you use this template, please make sure to credit it to Misty Hilltops Designs.

Hybrid Hub: Thank You Card No. 15

It was a happy hour for my hybrid heart today. I was out on a stroll on campus, when I came across a little shop that said “stationary store” on the outside. Had never really been in there, so I thought, I’d take a peek. Have been looking for some ways to create a hybrid mini book/album, but nothing the usual stationary/craft stores around have to offer would work for me. But lo, setting my foot into that store, I soon realized I had dug up a treasure! I sure must have spent at least an hour in there, combing through their piles of stuff, and in the end, left with an emptier purse than I had meant to, but a bag full of treasures and a happy heart. Now I have ribbons, miniature size (bull) clips, notebooks (that will do perfectly once I’ve torn them apart and use the paper for scrapping), and I even found a way how I could put together my December Daily album from last year that still needs lots …

A 30-Day Photo Challenge

Last month I decided to participate in a 30-day Photo Challenge starting October 1. Every day there will be a new challenge for which to take a picture, and I thought it would help me get out my camera a little more often and capture some of the little moments in life. The bad news is that I spent the entire October Holiday in bed so far, (which is why it’s been so quiet around here these last couple of days), and I missed the first five days of this challenge. BUT: late is better than never, I say – and so, fighting the bouts of sleepiness that still kept creeping up on me all day (just don’t have the patience for another day in bed), I carried my tired body out into a bright and sunny day for a little walk around campus. (It can never harm to allow the sun to warm your nose, right?) Anyways, I’m far behind in the photo challenge project, so today I thought I’d better start with those …

Inspire Me: Mi Monteiro

She’s been on my list for an “Inspire-Me” feature for a long time: Mi Monteiro. I first noticed her last year when she was accepted as a Sugarbabe over at SSD. Her pages are beautiful, and time and again I’ve lost myself in her gallery, finding inspiration for my own pages. Her layouts are impeccable; her style is quite versatile. I love her sense for composition, colors, pattern, and clustering, and I absolutely admire what she’s able to do with a kit, just by resizing items and her composition. If you haven’t discovered Mi Monteiro as inspiration for yourself yet, then make sure to take a look at her gallery; you might just get as inspired as I am!

P2D Inspiration: July Highlights

I’ve got more P2D inspiration for you today. I found this page recently … (Sorry, I don’t know who the artist is, I think I got the link from pencillines.com) And I liked it well enough that I thought I’d give it a shot digitally. So, here’s my take on it: With the original, I loved the take on the patterned papers, the stitching along the edge, the flowery clusters, and the bits of word art.
