Monday Highlight: Scrapping Fall with Older Kits

Buying digiscrap kits, I really like to make full use of them. And making full use of them, also means to use them again, for more than just one layout. So, recently, I dug up some of my older kits from my digistash, to scrap some of my more recent fall memories and thoughts. Here’s one page, made with Julie Billingsley’s and Eva Kipler’s “Warm Your Heart,” which unfortunately is no longer available. I only added a few berries from another kit, and a stamped alpha. And this one – a scraplift of a rather simple nature – was made with Julie Billingsley’s “Falling For You.” See? Old, doesn’t mean outdated, or boring; so maybe you also have some older kits in your digistash that are still good for scrapping your memories. Why not check your folders, and see if there’s something that maybe you’ve even forgotten about, but that would make a wonderful new page? You never know – it might be a page like that that makes one of the next standouts …

Culture Week 2011 Day 1: China

The biggest event of the year is here: Culture Week. Every year, for a whole week, our school celebrates the different cultures of the world, and as usual, China makes the start. So, right after lunch I went to check out the square, and look at all the things I found … I have to admit, it still fascinates me to watch Chinese university students get all excited about buying stuff no one really needs, or eating cotton candy, or blowing bubbles, but hey, there’s a child in every one of us, right? By the way, wanna take a look at some real action? Watch this guy: He only needs a couple of seconds for each painting. I guess that’s the way to make money – after all, his paintings sell like hotcakes!

Treasure Sunday October 30th

Wheww! This is a tough call today. Am still undecided on a couple of pages, because there were so many layouts that I liked this week. But here’s this one for a starter: Divine Idylle by beaute This just has a beautiful composition and color scheme going on, and the photos are so adorable. Things I Love by giny The next gem I found has a beautiful artistic theme going on that caught my eye immediately. And I love how she pinned up her title like laundry. Remarkable (Grab Bag) by Dani I also fell in love with this beauty. What a beautiful composition with the pops of red that photo in the background, and the pretty cluster. Amused by domad Here, it was the photo that had me keep coming back to this page, but I also love the doodled border, and all the doodled elements she put together. My Fashionista by PaulineM When I saw this layout, I thought it was such a cool page! I love the yellow pops of color on …

P2D: Pause

Here’s a new sample for my Paper to Digi series. I took a layout by teapot2angel at 2 Peas and gave my own twist to it. Here’s the original: And here’s what I did with this: Finding inspiration in the paper scrapping world is so much fun, and if you haven’t tried it, you might want to check out teapot2angel’s gallery.

Shivering Season

There are five season where I live: Spring, summer, autumn, winter, and – shivering season. No, that’s not Halloween, though I’m aware that that’s just around the corner. I’m no American, so quite frankly, I don’t understand why people like to scare each other and call that fun. In other words: I don’t like Halloween. But I also don’t like shivering season. That’s the season right in between when it gets cold and before the heaters are turned on here. This year, shivering season has come early, and it looks like I’ll have to be shivering for at least two more weeks until the heaters slowly will begin to do their jobs to warm our homes and our hearts. Looks like it’s time for me to renew my friendship with lil’ Mr. Electric Space Heater. He’ll keep me company I’m sure until that glorious day arrives that we all are looking forward to, and this year it was announced to be one day earlier than usual: November 14th! Still keeping up with the photography challenge, …

Piece of Evidence

There is a German idiom, which literally translated says “to have a stone in someone’s board,” and which means to be in someone’s good books. I didn’t have a stone in someone’s board this morning, but I did have a stone in my breakfast; that is in my breakfast cereals. I guess that would mean I fell out of someone’s favor? Anyways, here’s the evidence: The truth is, I didn’t just have one stone; I actually had two! I must be in pretty serious trouble then, am I not – getting rocks thrown at me in the morning already? Well, it all started with this one little rock. It felt quite unpleasant to unexpectedly bite on something so hard that it almost hurt. But after I found the stone and got rid of it, I didn’t think much of it. After all, this time, I didn’t lose part of my tooth, like a couple of years ago when there was a pretty decent sized stone in the salad that I had gotten in our dining …
